Customer Reviews

Gift They were a gift to my husband, and he seems to like them very much, he says the view is very crisp and clear. 4Three Stars A good price for a usable product. 3Bang for the buck(s) For the $ I think these are quite good. I purchased them for my wife to watch whitetails in the backyard of our Michigan cabin. When dialed all the way to 21x they are a little touchy to focus, but overall after one month I think these are a great value. 4Nice for the price They work but they are cheaper than good binoculars of the same type. Glass is not as clear but for the price its a nice binoculars to keep in your vehicle. 4Happy Customer ! Good Product - Great Price - Happy Customer ! 4Best bino's for the price These are great! Please consider them they arn't cheap light pieces of crap. They also arn't the heavy boxy one either. Nice rubber water proof. I just used my pair hunting rained 75% of the time. Never fogged. You will never find a better pair for the price. These shoud have been well over a hundred. 4Were good weight wise and not to bulky Were good weight wise and not to bulky. Good low light viewing. Clear image viewing. Focusing and zoom get stiff and hard to move in cold weather. Not easily done with gloves on, even when kept under a jacket or coat. Lens covers fit very loose and cannot be used in the field. In case storage only - not good. Hunting glasses should have the caps attached to a line that can be attached to the glasses for quick removal and replacement. No warranty card included. Contacted Amazon and no reply. After you buy these I guess your on your own. 4I would say worth the money. The Barska 7-21x40 binoculars do what they are supposed to do.Glass:I have been testing these binoculars in many different lighting and environmental conditions. Sunny, cloudy, dusk, night time, and yes rain. The clarity is pretty good. I have been viewing objects from 100-600ft away with acceptable clarity. The glass will not compete with higher end binoculars but for price I approve. Even through rain and poorer light conditions they still held up. I will say they do not seem as "bright" as other lens most likely due to the coatings so some colors may not appear as "poppy" as others bino's might.Durability:I bought this pair specifically for the waterproof/weather resistance that it has. So far it has held up in a complete down poor. As soon as a large thunderstorm came rolling through, that was when I grabbed these and headed for the rain. I am waiting to see how these will handle colder weather but I could guess they will do just fine. The construction is pretty solid. Besides the finger groves they have a nice rubber coating that increases grip even in wet conditions. They are just a tad bit heavy for those picky people. I was not concerned with the weight but it is metal and that is what i like. Most of my gear goes through the ringer and these I know can take a ding or two without any substantial damage.Zoom/focus:So far I have been pleased with the focus. I have had problems before with other optics being able to focus the right exit pupil because of my right eye (astigmatism) but with these they are able to be manipulated enough for me to get a clear focus with out the double vision. There is a level under the right exit pupil that shifts from 7-21x magnification. It is easy to manipulate and is fluid. As is common for most zoom-able binoculars, the clarity and focus gets fuzzier and harder to correct at the furthest magnification. This also depends upon how far the object you are viewing is as well as what the lighting conditions are. I found that distance as well as viewing during the night time had the greatest effect on focus at full zoom. At 7x it perfect. At 21x for me it is good enough.Size:I wanted a semi-compact bino that could take me a little closer if needed. I did not want huge 50mm lens giants. These fit the bill for me. They are slightly more compact than others.Ergonomics:These are pretty comfortable. I can glass with these binos for a while. Some binoculars foster a certain position of the arms and wrists. These foster a position with the elbows inward to the body (heart shape vs. making an O with your arms?).Contents:These bino's came with a flimsy case but a case none the less with 4 lens caps that are not connected. It came with a microfiber cloth and a neck strap. These accessories are more just curtsey instead of quality. I plan on throwing these in the top of my pack, thats good enough for me.Value:Over all I feel these binoculars have a high value for the money. That being said I have not had/used these for over a year, so time shall tell. If your looking for an inexpensive binocular that has a good construction, good glass, and get you in a little closer for those times, I would recommend them.Cons: My only cons are with the magnification lever and the accessories. The lever has a little more movement than I would like right where the binoculars join. The level is plastic but the bar connecting the two is metal.I would suggest you determine your purpose and intended use before buying any binocular. There are many different types out there and not all are made for the same purpose. Theses binoculars suit me in many different ways. Overall i am very pleased with the money spent. 4Awesome binoculars for the money Awesome binoculars for the money! Super clear and easy to focus. A little on the heavy side for extended use but overall very nice binoculars. Worth every cent. The reason for 4 stars would be due to 3 things: 1) the weight, 2) cannot focus when zoomed all the way in, 3) the lens covers should be attached and could fit better. The zoom is great, except when you zoom to the max and are unable to focus. These replaced a small pair that broke while on vacation and I am pleased. You will be too. 4Not bad at all... but not water proof or fog proof. At 50 yards I can definitely see the 22LR patterns very well. I can sit and observe animals and the top of a power line pole and have a pretty good view. The focusing is separate on both eyes. For the money i am glad i bought these. The carrying case is nothing to brag about and the protectors for the lenses are adequate at best but the binoculars are very good. 4
