Customer Reviews

The right tool for the job. Exactly what I need to comb cables. 5It is a little difficult to figure out the best way of loading it I have to write this review. This tool is phenomenal. Works with cat5, cat6, cat6a. I haven't used it for any other application, but, let me tell you, it cuts the work in half. Maybe even more. It is a little difficult to figure out the best way of loading it, but once you figure it out, it's a snap. Any low voltage guys out there that don't have this as a main staple of their bag, either don't know about it, or are too stubborn to change with the times. Get it today! 5Makes me look good. I'm a network technician and I frequently service my customers networking cabinets. This tool makes me look really good. I use it in suspended celing runs to get everything looking nice and neat and to make sure everything is serviceable in the future. Worth every penny and has more than paid for itself in "wows" I have received from customers. 5Great Comb Pro: I work as professional cable installer, this comb is sterrdy and keeps the cable tight. Perfect use to dress cables into the IT room, make nice bundles.Con: I wish they can make a comb for a 48 bundle because alot of the bundles are 48 cables for a 48 patch panel. This comb is only good for upto 24 cables. 5Very efficient and easy to use tool. Saving me tons of time. Worked perfectly as expected on CAT6. Tried it on a 42 cable bundle of Belden 1855A Sub-Miniature RG59 Digital Coaxial Cable ( 0.159" outside diameter ) cable and worked quite well on that as well! See attached pic. I will continue using it on all of the video and network cable I have to pull for this very large studio project. It has raised the efficiency of dressing these cables up dramatically.Don S.Broadcast Engineer 5great tool for the value Used it several times for cable management. would buy again if it broke. 5EXCELLENT TOOL! A MUST HAVE! YOU MUST OWN THIS TOOL! I gave one to every one of our technicians and they ALL love it. Quality material, EXCELLENT design, I will continue to buy and recommend this. GET ONE! You won't be sorry! 5Good quality I run a small company in Korea that provides network cable installation service. And I found this might be useful for my business. After I opened the box, I was surprised of the quality. I am very excited that I can be more competitive than any other companies here. 5Great product, reasonably priced. From cable mess to cable meticulous in less than 5 minutes. Delivered fast and works as described. 5Great product, but read before you buy Edited 2-1-2014I've never come back to edit a review here, but Steve at Acomm tools has been trying to reach/email/call me/stalk me for months to find out why I returned it. That a small company cares that much about their customers' satisfaction months *after* I returned the product is impressive. I've added 2 stars and changed some opinions after finally speaking with him.I really wanted this to work for me. I mean, i spent $40 of my own money for this piece of plastic.>> edit: okay, it didn't work for me, but now I can understand the cost. There's some serious cash involved in having custom molds made for your product. This is a niche market, so they just aren't selling enough units to bring cost down. Maybe that will change, maybe it won't, but I can't fault a guy for recovering his costs and trying to make a buck.First, its smaller than you think it is. I mean, about 20% smaller than it should be (about 4.5" diamter).>> edit: obviously it's meant for CAT5. That's still where most of the market is, I totally get it. And it works f*ing fantastic for CAT5. And it fits in your tool bag.Second, the holes are berely big enough for Cat6 STTP. But total fail trying to use with RG6 Quad Shield cable. All things considered, this device could be larger, with larger diameter holes. That would make everything better.>> edit: I had a long conversation with Steve about this. He agrees that they should make a larger comb for larger cables, but there might not be a market out there to bear the costs of new molds. I mean, who is psychotic enough to pull shielded CAT6 in their house (other than me?). I would really love to have a slightly larger version of this for larger cables. We'll see.If you only ever have to comb Cat5, this will be great for you.>> edit: to be fair, it didn't work with the CAT6 STTP and RG6 Quad that I was using. Other manufacturers may have smaller wire diameters that will work with this.Revised final conclusion:1. Acomm Tools is a small company that grew out of their own cable pulling business. They saw a need in the market and spent their own hard earned cash making something that would make our lives easier.2. It ain't cheap to have this stuff manufactured. It costs what is costs. If you pull cable and terminate networks for a living, you must have at least one of these in your tool bag. It WILL pay for itself on the first job.3. I returned this because I'm an amature techie and it didn't work for me on the one installation that I had to do: my house. If I did this for a living, I would have said to myself "Hm. Not so much with the shielded CAT6" and kept it for other installations.4. It is a really we'll built piece of plastic. If you install cables for a living, you'll appreciate the build quality. Think of how much you'd spend on the right punch tool, network tester or drill motor. Yeah, think of this as a tool, not just a piece of plastic.5. It's smaller than you think, so it will fit in your tool bag of course!6. Support the small company that cares about its product and its customers. Sure I suppose I could download a file and 3D print one of these, but it won't be strong enough to actually comb out (48) CAT5 cables. 4
