Exceeded expectations! This is one of those rare times when something I buy exceeds my expectations! These T8 fixtures are extremely light weight and very bright, with a crisp clear light! I installed these for a friend who has a large older kitchen with a furdown add on from the 80's where they used the old T-12 fixtures. They were flickering from bad ballast, bulbs, sockets, you name it; with those old fixtures it's a constant maintenance issue, especially in colder weather when they don't want to come on and damaging to your eyes when they Finally do come on! Replacement of those was a pleasure being a Commercial Journeyman Electrician since 1984 I've seen hundreds of the older light fixtures as well as installed them in many buildings and outside signage where we had to use a special type of ballast & bulb HO's (or high output) which were even heavyer and MORE expensive. These new HO T8 fixtures are a dream come true for an older Electrician like me! Light weight, easy to install (for anyone) pure bright light, use indoors or outdoors in shops, garages, any uninsulated buildings and these light up fast, cold or hot temperatures! I highly recommend, and most definitely will be purchasing more for others and myself. You can't go wrong with this futuristic lighting and priced right for all their worth. I just can't wait to be able to get to my own home! 5* of 5 every time!5Delighted, great lights with a good white light for my shop.I got these to replace the 6 2-tube 30+ year old fluorescent light and the 4 goose-neck lamps lighting my shop in the 2-car garage. I ve at least doubled the effective light for my work area, very important for me as my eyes age and require more light, and cut the power consumption by about 2/3 s.Installation was fairly easy. My case required extending the length of come of the cables, or hard wiring the light directly to a wall switch, but I found the connecters and other thing supplied to be very useful and easy to deal with. The only negative was that one of the lights had a single inoperative LED on one of the 2 strips. I decided that this was too trivial to bother about and simply mounted that light so that the tiny interruption of lighted LED s was difficult to see so that I wouldn t be distracted by noticing it.5Got more than expectedThe lights themselves surpassed my expectations. Not sure about the description of the lights though, I ran some tests and concluded that the wattage comsuption is around 36 Watts not 40 as stated in the description (close enough I suppose). I concluded this based on the voltage reading of 122VAC in my house and current draw of 300 milliamps per light. On the back of each light, the sticker says that the light efficacy is 120 lumens/ watt, meaning that each light only outputs around 4,400 lumens per light. Regardless the lights are very bright and since they can easily be linked, the lights illuminate my entire garage. The mounting brackes are not the best, I had to use my own drywall anchors and screws and had to bend the clips in a bit in order to hold the lights in tighterAnother event that happened is that one of the ten lights was damaged (it would not light up) right off the box. Contacted the seller and they responded in a timely manner, again the rep surpassed my expectations by offering me to send another set of 10 lights for free without the need of sending the old ones or the defective ones back. Received the package a couple weeks later and received 10 new lights. Out of the ten, one was damaged (broken plastic end caps) and one showed signs of short circuit. Three mounting clips were missing. Really can't complain since I received 7 additional lights at no cost.Since I got to keep the defective one from my first and only purchase I decided to open it up and see what the issue was, found out that one of the positive wires going to the LED strips was pinched in between the plastic end caps and the aluminium frame (probably happened when the lights was assembled), causing it to ground off and shorted out the driver.Overall I ended up with 17 working lights I have to say I'm very happy with the purchase as both the lights and seller surpassed my expectations. I actually recommend these same lights to some of my coworkers and friends that are currently in the market for LED lights.5W. O. W. (4FT 10PACK)Let me start by saying sorry for the mess in the garage, we're still moving in. Okay. So I was originally skeptical. I was considering bBounder's 4 foot double led lamps but found these are very popular on YouTube. And they advertise more brightness per single lamp than the competitor's double lamp, so I figured why not. I do mechanic work in the garage and it was like night time in there. I installed 3 and turned them on, and the garage was VERY bright already. But I bought 10, so i'll use 10. In all it took me about 3 hours to install all 10. I used 1 inch tube straps as well as a drywall anchor and screw kit. I saw another review that said to use 1 1/4 inch tube strap; well, I had to make 2 trips to the store because the 1 1/4 straps are way too big and the light just hangs on them. I did not use the included hardware because I do not have the time or money to deal with lights falling on cars as reviews stated. Now they aren't going anywhere. They do weigh next to nothing and the plastics are very flimsy and cheap, but so what, I bought these to light my garage not to show off. Finally I installed all 10 via 2 outlets in series of 5, and wow. I was scared that since I didn't have white walls that the light wouldn't reflect and amplify into every space. But it does. These lights harness the power of the sun because it feels like daylight inside my garage and i'm not exaggerating. If you look at the old fluorescents, you can't even tell that they're on. I included a before and after photo and tried to adjust exposure so it looked exactly like what my eyes were seeing. Its insane. My tip for installation is to use a laser level to line things up nicely. Now I just hope they last for years to come!5Best deal on shop lights EVER!!My husband built a 30x50 workshop and decided to install led lights so if course I find these on amazon and let me say these lights are awesome! Aside from one light strip being bent during shipping I'm guessing, my husband bent it back out and hung it anyway and you can't tell it was ever damaged.. They light up shop perfectly, really easy to hang and will Def buy more if needed later if he finds he needs a close up light as the ceilings are 12 foot tall. One thing my husband did was to make them more stationary is to wrap zip ties around rafter and light becaues when you pull one together to plug in sometimes it pulls the other ones plug loose so he fixed them to where they wouldn't move so easily5Very bright but quirky wiring and attachment systemLiked the butt connectors for solid runs of lights. Didn't like the long cord connector for changing direction on a run of lights. Same with the switched cord. Most people hang these from the ceiling, I assume, so the cord just droops down for you to activate the switch? I'd rather some kind of bare connector for the port in the light that the end user could connect whatever. The wire gauge in the cords is miniscule. Maybe 20 gauge? And the sheath for both the inner individual wires and the outside of the bundle is brittle like crazy, difficult to strip. The ceiling clips are garbage. Bend them tighter before you hang them so they can hold the lights up.All that said, 10 of these make for a very well-lit garage and the price is right. Overall I am satisfied.4Holy crap, these are bright lights!!These are REALLY BRIGHT LIGHTS!! I got the 8 5000k lights and the color temp matches my other 5000k led bulbs.First off the lights don t weigh much. I ve seen a lot of reviews saying the metal mounting clips are too thin and weak to hold the light and that you need a zip tie or something else to hold it. That seems completely silly to me. There are 30 clips in the package, so 3 per light. That is easily enough. While installing the lights I would put one clip in the center, and then add the outer ones. Just one clip in the middle could hold the weight, no problem. With 3 there s no way the light is going to come loose. I did bend the clips in slightly just to make sure though.I have power in several places on my ceiling because I m replacing fluorescent fixtures, but the power came into those fixtures to one side or the other of center. These lights connect to power on the ends. Because of that, and the fact that the direct wire they give you is about 6 long, I ended up using the power wire with the standard 120v plug and toggle switch, which is 5 long. If you cut off the plug and strip the wire back it works much better than the short direct wire they give you. The short direct wire option has some unusual colored wires in it, yellow with a green stripe (ground), brown (hot) and blue (neutral). The 5 foot power cord has standard wire colors, green (ground), white (hot) and black (neutral). Now regarding the brightness. I have blue eyes and have always been sensitive to bright lights. These lights are so bright it hurts me to look directly at them. In testing them, they were so bright that I eventually decided to put something over the light to defuse them somewhat. I tried a few things, but works the best is white contact paper from HD. The paper comes in a 18 x 20 length for $8 bucks and has an adhesive backing like tape, only not as sticky. You can easily lay it down and peal it back up to work out the air bubbles if you get any. Afterwards the light was perfect and the intense brightness was knocked down a bit, right where I wanted it. If you look at the attached pic looking up directly at the bulb, the top third of it has the paper installed, and the rest is the bare bulb. The bright light washes out the camera, so in the pic it looks slightly yellow where the tape is. That s only in the pic, it doesn t really look like that in person. In the other pics with the cars, each bulb is completely covered by the contact paper, so you can see how white the light is, and it s still plenty bright. I think they turned out perfect!I wouldn t highly recommend these lights, especially if you have high ceilings and won t be looking directly into them. You won t be disappointed with the light output. One thing I would recommend is adding the lights to your Honey droplist and watching the price for a week or so. They run a lightning sale every so often and drop the price a bunch.5from Flouescent to LEDChanging my garage over from VHO,HO 8ft fluorescent to Led 4ft strip lights.Hard to actually lower wattage consumption without losing lumens. But somethings gotta give. Fluorescent tubes are durable other than the glass and cleanable as were the fixtures. But with the lousy ballasts and the high prices of replacements I went with LED 4 foot linkable tube like fixtures. They are ultra light so the crappy clips will probably hold them there unless you are swinging a board around and hit one. I read about the unevenness of some peoples ceilings and how the clips hold them so close to the ceiling that they will not clip. So I used some 1/4" thick standoffs .Seems to have worked.( my ceiling is very level and even compared to some garages I have seen) Time will tell as I know the shop gets filthy dirty from milling wood and metal ,so when I go to clean them , will I be cussing them out? Hope the plastic does not get stained from the wood stove and block out some light as I have already sacrificed some lumens by switching over . I could have come up with the same supposed lumens as the VHO lamps by buying/ installing more fixtures but then would only realize about a 15% savings in electricity use. They do not light the ceiling as the light is not directed anywhere to the ceiling which is white. So the ceiling dos not reflect any light and gives the appearance of being darker as compared to fluorescents. If I am able to and remember , a year or so from now I will update my review. The light is bright white and I can see fairly well while working in the shop4What you should know... -Updated 11/05/19The lamps themselves are Great! The light they put out is exactly what I wanted. Bright and soft. Connecting them one to another is a breeze. Options for how to wire them is a real plus and they're easy. HOWEVER... what you need to know is the mounting hardware, the 'clips", are flimsy. they're pre shaped metal. Very, very thin. And due to that, they don't hold they're shape very long. They quickly become fatigued and the lamp falls out. Mine were installed about 2 1/2 days. I was very pleased with them. I was out early in the morning talking to my neighbors with my garage door open. (I mounted 10 of them in my garage) And as my neighbors were commenting on all the bright soft light streaming out from my garage, at that moment, one of them fell out of the clips. So, I went around and install Tie Wraps to all of them. Not too tight. Just snug.I do recommend the lamps. They're awesome. The mounting hardware sucks.I still think they're a good value for the price I paid. I'm just going to have to replace the one which fell.Update:I decided to write to INW and explain to them that I believed the reason the lamp in question fell to the floor and subsequently broke, was due to the mounting hardware which came with the lamps I purchased from them. They responded. But I don't think I explained myself well enough to them. They offered to send me additional mounting clips. And they requested photos. After clearing that up and they understood I needed a new replacement lamp, They refunded me $5 and offered to send me the replacement lamp. Approximately a week later I received a tracking number. When the package arrived, it contained a box of ten lamps with all of the requisite cables and mounting hardware. So, as far as I'm concerned, they exceeded my request for a replacement lamp. They took my issue seriously. And I have been made to feel that my satisfaction was very important to them. I would absolutely buy from them again. And I do recommend to any who read this that you can feel confident in shopping with them.As I said, they exceeded my expectations. They took me seriously. They deserve for you to know that they are a trustworthy seller on amazon. The lighting in my garage is awesome now.Thank you INW.Nick5Great quality lights I've always needed.I ordered the 10 pack of 8ft lights. I bought These because seemed to be the brightest lumen of led lights per fixture... One might argue a 4ft 5000 lumen would be brighter, but it wouldn't cover as much space less used 2 together.. But either way, I've struggled with lighting in my 20x30' garage. Originally built with only 2 bulb fixtures... I've added some fixtures here and there but never a full set to really give better light all the way around...Anyway, package arrived today, no issues.I've got 8 of them up, will hopefully get the other 2 up tomorrow but really after the 1st one I could tell this was going to give me the light I really needed over the years.I'm finally in a position of having more light than day light! And I still have 4 more to finish and turn on!I will say their are cheaper lights... And only time will tell what the longevity will be like... One thing I noted was how light they are!! No fear or effort schlepping up a 8ft light...Quick tips;1. If you're installing on rafters, like me, run a zip tie over and around them. The mounting clips work... But they're cheap and thin.. But they can still get nicked out easily while shuffling a ladder or 2 around... Ask me how I know..Cons/recommendations to the company..;The hardwire links are just too short. I've got 10 of them but just too short to use from my existing boxes. They're like 6" long. I would have preferred 5 of them max but 12" long.Same goes for the extention wires... They're 4ft... But so is the spacing of my rafters... So I was kinda forced to Set most of them perpendicular to the rafters at 3ft spacing.. 5ft would probably be perfect...Otherwise feel free to message and ask questions. I'll clean up the shop tomorrow and get some pics with all installed.5
