and very comfortable, it causes the same problem we bought a ... The toilet seat itself IS a finely made product, the problem is, and im trying not to be gross here mind you, the reason we went with an open front is to prevent male contact with the underside of the seat, and this DID solve that problem, the issue is, this seat makes you sit forward more about an inch, resulting in male contact with the inside edge of the bowl instead, same problem just different cause. So although the seat IS well made, doesnt budge an inch, and very comfortable, it causes the same problem we bought a new toilet seat to begin with. 3Better fitting This doesn't have a lid, but works for me. I'm built a bit on the wide side, so find the full circle small toilet seats uncomfortable, and have a small bathroom where the larger size toilet isn't possible. This allows me to sit comfortably. It is hard to find the smaller sized commercial version. But it is also easier to clean and stays put - the attachment hardware works well. 5Only one problem, otherwise, it works! Well, I liked all it said about it in the presentation, so I paid a bit more than I planned for a toilet seat. Maybe the bolts won't need tightening, but the seat does stay over to one side more than the other. Thankfully no pinched cheeks or anything major, it just looks wonky. I can lift the seat up and down repeatedly while putting pressure on it to get it back to the middle position, but it works back over that little bit.. just enough to bug me. It works though... 4Comfortable, economical, sturdy toilet seats We replaced the household toilet seats in 10 of our men's room stalls with these Bemis commercial toilet seats. They are industrial strength, have a sturdy fastening system, are simple to clean and they are easy and comfortable to sit on. Basic but very good. So far, several weeks after installation, none of them have been broken, and believe me, some of our employees seem to work on that sometimes. We now inventory a few of these. 5Great Enlongated Toilet Seat I don't miss having a lid on the toilet, I never saw the need, it's cosmetics. Sure this is a commercial toilet seat. That means it's durable, long lasting and on top of that it's amazingly comfortable to sit on. The seating area is curved and banked which supports your body incredibly well. The only problem is a little bit of flashing from the manufacturing sticking out on the lower front right edge on the seam. A little file work or a sharp knife will clean that up if it ever does bother me. The seat cleans up easily and the fastening system feels tight with no wiggle or wobble. Have had the seat installed for nearly two months and am happy I made the decision to go industrial/commercial every time it gets used. 4Great as a bariatric toilet seat I was replacing toilet seats in my first floor bathroom at least twice a year until I bought this commercial toilet seat. This seat has now lasted over three years with no problem except an occasional tightening. I don't know why this seat isn't promoted more as a bariatric toilet seat. I have a family member who weighs in excess of 500 pounds and uses this every day without issue. This is a great purchase for anyone with similar problems. 5Easy to install We paid just under thirty dollars for this seat. Between the quality and what I consider to be a fair price, I would recommend this to family and friends - therefore 5 stars. I notice that the price is cheaper today, so it might be one of those items that fluctuates in price a lot - so keep an eye on it & get a better deal than I did :-)This seat was a bear to install, due to tight spot that our toilet stool is located in. In addition, we have a different type of stool - that is all one piece in design rather than the detachable tank with stool, so there was no room for my husband to work. He tried, said some bad words, & gave up. I'm pretty hand, but have never installed a toilet seat before, but figured I might as well try. After all, I had all of the necessary qualities I'm tiny, so I could fit in the work space (although it was a bit claustrophobic) and I have tiny hands that could fit in the concealed space that the plastic nuts would have to go in order to go on the bolts. My husband was in a bit of a mood, so I watched the video on Amazon. Honestly, this job is pretty self-explanatory, but I watched the video just so I wouldn't have to squeeze into the workplace twice if it turned out that I couldn't figure it out. This was a easy job. In our case, it was a challenge, because of the tight area, but the install itself was a snap. Anybody can do this. I am happy with the seat & can't hope noticing that it, so far, has no 'wobble'.I would like to point out that we installed this in a bathroom that my son (a lid-slammer) uses for doing his business and then washing his hands. Because it comes with no lid (which is what we wanted), it would probably not be sanitary to install this seat in a restroom where toothbrushes, bath towels, etc. are kept out in the open - toilets tend to distribute a fine mist in your bathroom when flushed. We are happy with our purchase (paid around 28 dollars) of the black seat. It is heavy (literally - it has some serious weight to it) & appears durable. We chose black, because my son has disabilities that result in him being messy in the restroom (which is why he has his own bathroom) & is on medication that can cause stains - we're hoping the black seat will not stain or at least not show stains as much as the white ones we've had in the past have. I'm sorry if this is too much info for those of you that this doesn't apply to, but I felt obligated to mention it, because there may be those out there that are struggling with similar issues & frequent replacement of toilet seats drains the wallet after a while.Happy with purchase. If we have any problems, I'll be sure to update. Otherwise, you can assume that we found this to be stain-resistant, durable, long-lasting, & not wobbly.Update: We have not had to tighten this seat up (after several months), which is extremely unusual for seats used by my son. My son tends to 'plop' down - he can't lower himself gently with his disabilities. A handicap rail helps slow him down, but he still manages to rough up his seats. In addition, my husband used this seat (other bathroom was out of commission for a couple of days) and my husband (who has gained back all of the weight that he'd managed to lose) commented that this seat was comfortable for him. This is coming from a man who has been insisting that someone must have moved the arms on his dining room chair closer together and that the car seat somehow shrank. So, it evidently works well for big guys. 5Rock solid, comfortable, foolproof installation, and VERY affordable...can't ask for more than that. The seat is solid, easy to clean, and turns out to be the same used by many public restrooms, hence the commercial designation...and you know they need something durable. A feature that really drew me to this seat, beyond the excellent affordabililty, is the way it attachs in such a safe and secure way....safe, because the bolt mechanism is designed to give way when you applied enough torque to properly bolt it into place. Over torquing is a bad idea, especially when it comes to porcelain. The only potential drawback with this seat is if you really require a lid. For myself, the lack of a lid is actually a plus, and the few times I'm concerned about the lack of a lid, I've got an appropriate sized piece of thick cardboard that will make sure nothing falls in the commode that doesn't belong. The cardboard even serves as a makeshift table if I've got some sort of project going on. 5Perfect for big guys. These toilet seats are great. I don't know why I didn't try a commercial type of toilet seat before now. Our toilet seats kept breaking and cracking. Replacing them was becoming rather expensive and annoying. So far this one has held up like a dream. 5Product reliability/quality control slipping I have have ordered many of these and replaced many of these over the last 20 years as a maintenance person. We used to only replace them because they would start turning yellow after years of use. I never replaced a toilet seat for being broken until the last 3-5 years. Now they never make it long enough to turn yellow because they break. I was very amazed at the 1st or 2nd that broke because it had never happened before, well I guess they are now looking to sell more and not making them out of the same material. Also the plastic screw on nuts that are supposed to keep from making the toilet seat loose and backing out,,well let me tell you, after it breaks, have fun getting those bad boys back off(will never happen). You will have to cut it off with a sawzaw. I put on my own lock nuts and nuts. Have installed at least 20 of these btw. Thanks 3
