Customer Reviews

Excellent, hard-to-find metric hex bits I've been looking for these for quite some time: long-shank hex bits that lock into my driver. Hardware stores don't have anything like them for some reason. I got this metric set along with the 10836 imperial set, and they're now my go-to bits. Made in the USA, with ball tips for tough angles, and less than two beans apiece? How can you go wrong. Only complaint is that the smaller bits still have fat shanks, making them difficult to squeeze into tight spaces, and useless for recessed screws. Overall, a no-brainer. 5Assembling Fixtures I work in a "job-shop" that manufactures parts for various companies. I am a horizontal boring bar machinist (Devlieg). There are times we will machine and assemble fixtures for our customers and in allot of cases it is a tight fit to be able to tighten the fasteners with a standard hex driver that is in the normal socket drive, and a regular "L" shape allen wrench takes a long time to get the bolt down. I bought this set and used my chapman driver and it made life allot easier. After I snug the fastener down with these inserts I then put the insert in a 1/4" socket and use the torque wrench to set the screw. I made a holder for both the SAE and metric in a block of aluminum. I highly recommend these inserts if you need to work in tight areas, I would not drive the smaller inserts with an drill, stripping or ball end removal may occur. 5Got me out of a lot of jams These little ball type hex heads have helped with awkward angles and slight damaged hex bolts more times than I can count. From home jobs to my friend's motorcycle on a bad day. I find them one of those "convenience tools" that slots in and gets the job done when normal options are difficult. These now sit permanently in the carry box with my Makita drill/driver for whenever they may be needed. 5Great quality, bigger than I was hoping for Great build quality.I was hoping for some bits that I could get down into some terminals, but these are the full quarter inch size all the way down to the ball and only the ball is reduced in size so they wont-work for this this application. I am going to go ahead and hang on to them though because they are Bondhus and the price was great. 4Tough & Well Made This is one set that will last me a lifetime. The finish reminds me of how the original M16A1's were delivered: matte and 'Parkerized' (phosphate finish). In the short period I've had them, the finish does not seem to scratch off. They work even with a 12v power drill and enjoyed the fact that their semi-ball end shape, allowed me to tighten hex screws even if I was not completely perpendicular with the screw head. Great product. 5Great little impacts, been looking for a good set of these for a while. i just used these in one of my 1/4" impacts and they are working beautifully. The one piece construction means they won't come apart at the attachment point (issue with many I have had) and the larger shafts make it handle a little more torque.I do not have the issue of the recessed bolts with these as I will use a T-handle for those. You aren't going to be putting too much torque onto a bolt you cannot see, if something goes wrong then you won't be able to fix it.Another review stated that they were unhappy with a lack of 7mm. I have never seen a need for a 7mm allen while working socket cap screw s. 5These are a great addition to my 1/4 drive cordless impact These are a great addition to my 1/4 drive cordless impact. Work excellent. Bondhus quality is probably the best on the market, have been using their tools for 25 plus years with zero failures. 5Great deal. I agree with the following, common observations made by other reviewers:1. Bondhus has a great reputation.2. These ball head drivers are hard to find.3. The bits are well machined.4. The smaller 2.5mm to 4mm bits do look susceptible to breaking off, and can be difficult to use in tight spaces because of the larger shaft.5. My order too came in a small zip lock plastic bag.I'm not a machinist, just a hobby guy, but I don't know why you would use an impact tool on a 4mm bolt; much less on a 2.5mm one. If the drivers do break perhaps it wasn't the right tool, or the correct application of the tool, for the job. However, I too will be disappointed if they do break under "normal" use. But, as one other reviewer claims, you can return broken bits for a replacement. All this for under $20 bucks, and made in America? That's a deal, to me. 5Easy to get replacement for broken allens Just send back broken part in padded envelope with part description and return address toAttn: Warranty DeptBondhus Corp1400 E. BroadwayPO Box 660Monticello, MN 55362United StatesNo sales reciept needed 5Functional The smaller ball ends are less useful. The shaft is to wide next to the Ball end to really be of much use. to be fair, they do function and seem durable. I won't throw them away like some things. 4
