LED , check. Effecient, check. Noisy, check. I just recently purchased these for my first Gaming rig. I had spent near $800 before this purchase on it, and needed a reliable, cost-effective way to keep all my new parts cool as I pushed my PC to the limit. Lo and behold I found Cool Master sickle fans, and at the right price point. With an excellent price point and decent reviews, I decided to dive for it, and to I wasn't disappointed. So far all of my cores & my GPU have stayed at a steady 28c during long intensive gaming sessions. Witcher 3 on Ultra for 6+ hours, while running Fraps & Spotify.I have an excellent CPU cooler, but I attribute alot of this to the push-pull configuration I have set up using these fans.I will say one thing, they are fairly noisy. That doesn't bother me, but may bother others. As a starting , and cost effective choice, these are perfect!! Also the LED are a nice touch. 4NOT a PWM fan (3 pin connector, not 4 pin) This is NOT a PWM fan, only has a 3 pin connector (I mistakenly bought this thinking otherwise). I can still control the speed of it using fan speed buttons on my CM storm stryker case, but it can't be controlled by the motherboard's fan software. That said it's pretty loud at full speed. The blue leds look nice (darker hue compared to the CM JetFlo model), but if I run the fan at low speeds it creates a strobe light effect, kind of cool, but would be distracting if mine wasn't tucked away as a somewhat useless bottom intake (I have two 120mm Noctua industrial 3000 rpm intake fans in the case's front -- best fans you can buy IMO).I would not recommend putting this on your cpu cooler since its only a 3 pin non-PWM fan. Honestly wouldn't recommend it at all unless you're really broke. Spend about 6 bucks more for the JetFlo model that is a PWM, 4 pin LED fan (it's also really loud at 2000 rpm, but manageable since you can set a fan curve). If you can handle a few more bucks and can do without LEDs, go with Noctua.* In the pic the SickleFlow is the darker colored one furthest away (closest to front of case under the HDD cage). The fan closest to the PSU in bottom left is the JetFlo model. 3Quiet and fun to build stuff using them! I use these frequently on All my electronic projects that require fans! And Yes I have used them on my computer builds and fan replacements!(Appearance) Clear smoky plastic color helps Capture and reflect out the Blue Light coming off the LED's (My Favorite Color BTW)(Parts) They do give you the Adaptor so you can easily plug into the computers power supply(Sound) Very Quiet, Yes you can hear the sounds of air passing and sight Vibration, but quieter then other fans I've tried'Any less & I'd be wandering if its Spinning!'(Lifespan) I have not had any die on me yet! so this might Update!'But I try not to let dust build up, because that will kill your fan/(s)'My Next Project possible including these fansI might make a homemade Laptop cooler If I can make it Sturdy but not an ugly sight! 5Delivers, and delivers well. I've been in the computer world for many many years. Building, upgrading, and repairing. Both software, and especially hardware. So when I go looking for a fan, I look for trustworthy brands, min. Spec sound ratings, and the most important, the maximum CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute of air moved). This fan model is exactly what a person needs if they was an inexpensive fan that delivers high CFM, low noise when not at max, and an overall appealing aesthetic. The people who have called this fan "too loud" have hooked these fans directly to full powered Molex connections from their power supplies, have no control over their fan speeds through their motherboards, or have chosen to turn the fans on to max. It's my firm belief that, when ever possible, utilize board control of fans. The boards censors know more than we do about what temperatures to avoid and what are ok. So, letting the board decide to have them on high or low or even not at all is much better. I have an ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero motherboard, and it utilizes a fan control system that will go as far as turning fans off completely when they're not needed. That is as silent as you could possibly get.If you don't have on board fan connections, and are not wanting a loud fan, you're either going to need to buy a fan with a speed controller already wired in, or by a fan control module to set the speeds yourself. That's it.Pros: exactly what we paid for and what the product was described as. Does the work very well, and delivers on low speed silence promised. Doesn't end up all that loud when on high.Cons: the attached fan cable is pretty short, so if you have a long distance to go, or are worried about keeping cable management looking perfect you will need an extension cable. 5Worked as case fan for Aspire T TC-865-NESelecti3 I had read some details about Noctua fans (my first choice) having problems being recognized by the Acer, and this fan was recommended as working well. Indeed it does, plugs in and is recognized and controlled by the machine/bios. Certainly in an unmodified Acer, the extra fan isn't needed, but I built this as a gaming machine for my grandson. Added a 550w Seasonic gold power supply, upgraded to 16 gig memory, installed a WD Blue 500 nvme drive and used the included 1tb (Toshiba) to install games. The best part was how well a Gigabyte 1660 ti card works in the machine. I would have gotten the Acer with the i5, but the four core i3 was on sale for under $200, and just a year ago 4 cores meant i5. Very usable "stealth" gaming rig, very quiet, and very playable. This fan works great and really helps when pushing it full throttle. 5Works great on Hyper 212 Evo Ordered this to replace the fan on my Hyper 212 Evo that had died. It is the exact same fan that comes on the Evo I believe and works great. Just took the dead one off and put this one on and runs perfect. Most of the time you can't hear it but at full speed it puts out a lot of air and if you have no background noise can hear it. The only time it goes that high is while gaming during which you can't hear it over the game's sounds. So practical everyday use you will not hear it and on a 212 Evo on my fx 6300 at 4.2ghz it stays 16 celicus idle, gaming 28-33 celicus, prime95 full stress test after an hour 40.1 celicus. Not bad for a 30 dollar cooler. Like I said this fan comes on the evo but my original one died from 3 years everyday use so got a replacement. Works like new again. 5Don't recommend It is a cheaply made fan. It is cheap, too. I purchased 2 fans for $10 when they were on sale in Amazon. I don't think this fan worth $9 anymore--maybe it was 10 years ago.Screws are very hard to fit in the holes on the fan. Screwing feels like 'cutting down' the plastics, as well as the holes on the computer case.Fan causes loud noise depend on where you install it. My case, top panel works fine. But on side panel, it makes really really loud noise. Also, it does not provide silicon pins, so the top panel vibrates. That causes some noise, too.I give 5 stars for durability, because I have my old ones for about 6 years. They still work, although the blue LED looks like sky blue now.If you want to have cheap fans, this is good fan. But you have to realize that when a case fan makes noise, it is so terrible. Get something else. 2Excellent Inexpensive Fan for Radiators, Heatsinks or Drive Cooling (Static Pressure Fan) Pros:+One of the best performing Static Pressure fans in the 120mm fan size, and especially at this price+Nice bright green LED's+Great fan blade design permits low RPM with very good performance allowing for quieter use+Low priceCons:-Made in China-Sleeve bearing, which does not have the life expectancy of more expensive fans**Stats:=Model R4-L2R-20AG-RW=UPC: 884102007965=EAN: 4719512019108=120mm x 120mm x 25mm=3-pin DC-fan (vs 4-pin PWM), therefore LED brightness adjusts with the voltage provided (lower voltage = slower fan speed = dimmer LEDs)=50,000 hour MTBF Sleeve Bearing (ball bearing is better)=Max speed: 2,000 RPM=Max airflow: 69.69 CFM or 118.3 m^3/h=Max air pressure: 2.94 mm of H2O=Max noise: 19 dBA=Max power draw: 4.2W (0.35A)This fan is designed to best function where there are objects within 3", such as a radiator grill, heatsink or hard drive cage(s). It will not throw air far into a larger case. It will however force air into small crevices (or pull through them) with a much greater success than fans with fewer blades and/or large gaps in the blade design. Two of these are cooling my processor mounted on a Corsair H100i GTX Extreme radiator (240mm long). I only have to keep them at 1080RPM @ 5.6V for excellent thermal performanceIf you want a fan for pushing air through a case, then an Air Flow Fan design would benefit you. Those have higher CFM (cubic feet per minute) values than this fan 4Sounds like a weedwacker right out of the box! I think I will throw it in the trash. This is the first Cooler Master product I've bought, and upon opening the box...it felt very cheap and flimsy. I guess it's no surprise considering this fan only costed $10. The old saying "you get what you pay for" definitely plays into this one. As soon as I installed this fan into my PC it started buzzing like a weedwacker. I was hoping it would stop after running the PC for a bit, but no. It kept buzzing like it was trimming my lawn. I'm done with it. Ordered a higher quality product by a different brand. C ya Cooler Master! 2Noisy -Not this if you are looking for a quite fan This is the only fan in my system (no other noise sources). I set the mother board to supply only 30% power and the fan is still very easy to hear, when you hold it you can feel it vibrate (does not run smooth). If you set it on a hard surface its vibration is amplified. I ordered two of these and although one was worse they were both loud.I had ordered a couple of the more expensive usb powered AC Infinity MULTIFAN S4, and those things were very quite. But I could not use them because of their USB power source does match my application., so I tried these, but the difference in noise was so significant Im going back to the drawing board. If you are trying to avoid noise these "Cool Masters" are not for you. 1
