Customer Reviews

Check Amazon for Configurations I wrote a review in the moment and it disappeared. The main thing I would mention is that the directions inside the package don't show any configurations beyond a square. The configuration on the back of my TV is a rectangle and none of the holes lined up. BUT, when you come to Amazon to mention that in a review, there are all sorts of configurations pictured in the product description, including mine. So, be sure you check back here if you have a weird configuration on your TV. It comes with 4 extention pieces that are arranged to fit your TV depending on how it's laid out and it fits mine perfectly. You will need a 7/16" drill bit and a 1/2" nut driver to mount it, so be aware of that upfront--that's not something the average DIY'er might have in their tool kit--I didn't have the nut driver in mine. 4Installed On a Brick Veneer Wall I installed this on a brick veneer wall using two Tapcon 1/4-in x 2-3/4-in concrete screws with a hex head. I had to purchase these separately, and I already owned the Tapcon drill bit and sleeve kit. I drilled the top hole first using a hammer drill, and inserted the screw and lightly tightened it. Then, I used a magnetic level to level the bracket, and located and drilled the bottom hole. Then, I inserted the second screw, and carefully tightened both screws, alternating between both screws and making sure it was level. The key is to locate the bracket so both holes go through brick and not mortar. It holds a 40-in TV that weighs less than 30-lbs. I was able to attach the TV by myself, but you should really have another person to help "just in case." I didn't need the HDMI cable, extra mounting ears or any of the hardware, since my installation was not through a wood stud. The TV is easy to adjust. I wish there was a way to return the excess hardware for a credit, so as to encourage recycling. Finally, my wife reminded me to vacuum up the brick dust. 5Hung a 50" in a CORNER! Impressive design. My goal was to mount a 50" flat screen in a corner. This mount is now holding up my new Samsung 50" with 1-2" to spare on each side of the TV. You can see in the photo that the bracket can be swiveled out more so as to give more space for the TV to hang farther out or swing sideways and hang flush on one wall.I have a stud 16" from the corner plus the mount spans another 16" from the wall plate to the TV fix point, so the middle of the TV was able to hang straight out from the corner, which also meant the mount is almost perfectly perpendicular to the wall (no sideways tension leverage to make me nervous). The build and design is impressive, so the installation was simple and rock solid. They included a wide variety of bolts so you have exactly what you need depending on your TV, including spacers for rounded-back TVs; very considerate. There is a negative review about the tilt mechanism - stating that the tightening handle is too long and comes into contact with the TV, preventing you from fully tightening the tilt plate into place. It's erroneous. The handle is a spring loaded allen key handle that simply needs to be pulled straight along the shaft, readjusted and then you tighten more. It's clever. I mention this because it was my one concern and was delighted at the quality attention to detail of this mount. I love the "hook" plate that enabled me to lift the TV up onto the mount, "hook" it and then have both hands free to level it and tighten two more allen bolts. Well done. 5Installation quirks, design flaws, and help slow. Will probably have to return it. 8/2/16 added 2 stars for customer service I wanted this to work, mostly because having to replace it with another brand means more holes in the wall. But after the TV was attached to the mount, per the instructions I made quite a bit of adjustment of the bottom end of the wallplate (it had to be moved about 3/8" offset from the top, i.e. quite tilted from level) to level the TV. Not a heavy TV (40 lbs), so this seemed weird but it is related to there not being a way to lock down side to side tilt of the TV. You may not realize this until after you hang the TV because the instructions say to level the wallplate. But with the TV on it, every time I moved the position of the TV, the TV went way off-level.This happens because the flat hook that holds the bracket and TV to the wallplate and arm rests on a rounded surface with no way to lock the side-to-side level in place. You can see this in Step 6 in the installation instructions. The Allen screws supplied (screw [S] in the instructions) do not tighten enough to hold the TV level, so it easily goes off level any time you touch it. It can't be fixed by changing the level of the wallplate because it's the attachment point of the TV bracket to the articulating arm that causes the problem.Probably returning it to Amazon unless the company has a solution to the side-to-side rocking problem.Customer service is not great. Initiated request on a Saturday, they didn't reply until Tuesday. It was a holiday weekend but even so they say they are available 7 days/week. It's now Wednesday and the problem is still not resolved. Now they want me to call.INSTALLATION PROBLEMS: The bracket extenders were mislabeled "L" and "R". I believe they should actually say "TOP" and BOTTOM". Otherwise you have to screw the bottom ones on backwards and they won't seat properly. The instructions are also not clear about which side of the extenders should be screwed to the bracket.PROS:Nice that tools are not needed to adjust forward tilt and the whole mount seems solid despite the various problems. Even so will have to return it if there's no solution to the TV rocking problem. 3Rock solid After returning a previous "Suptek" mount, I was skeptical of cheap Amazon TV mounts. This one, however, is totally solid. I liked it so much I bought a second one for the bedroom. One caveat, as mentioned by another reviewer who ended up sawing off the adjustment handle (don't do that!), is that the "downward tilt" screw is quite picky. You have to tighten it so it is Just Right. Once you do that, you should be use the handle to loosen it enough to tilt it, and when the handle is tight it should be solid again. The range of motion on the handle is quite limited, so I can almost see why you would think that if you just shorten the handle you would be able to solve this problem, but I think this is actually a safety feature. The way it is stock would never allow you to loosen the handle to the point where the TV could become unstable.tl;dr: Fiddle with the adjustment screws on the back until you get it right, it's a little tricky to get perfect, but 10 minutes + an allen wrench and you should be good to go! 5Killer product: Installed it by myself... and added a Sonos soundbar to make it extra interesting. I never mounted a TV alone before. Having moved to a new city with some time on my hands and massive ambition, I decided to mount our 42" TV by myself. I know folks usually recommend this to be a two person job, but after reviewing the single stud design, tv bracket hook system, the numerous positive (easy installation) reviews and the NBA finals on that night... I ventured off alone. To make things even more complicated for a TV installation newbie, I was also going to mount my Sonos Playbar underneath the TV. So, if the TV moves, the soundbar moves. Not going to lie, between the weight of the TV and the heavy Sonos playbar, I was maxing out the listed 'load' of the TV mount.A few hours later, which included a Best Buy and hardware store run to find missing parts and extra human caution, the mount was up... TV, soundbar and all. Considering it was my first time and I was by myself, it couldn't have been easierIt's been 2 weeks since, the full motion truly is full motion. After some break-in, it's easier to use than ever, and the mount against the wall looks and feels like one of the most secure items in my apartment... probably is... the mount feels like a fixture.I couldn't recommend this more.. and for 1/4 of the price of a comparable' mount from Best Buy... the Echogear is a MUST buy. 5Solid mount for solid price. This mount works great. Easy to install and hang. I did it myself, but would have been a little easier with another person - if nothing more than moral support. My TV is a 2012/2013 model and is a little heavier and thicker than newer Tvs but the mount holds strong. The TV I hung is a 46in Samsung and weighs 31lbs according to the manufacturer. Here are a few angles of the hung TV. Don't mind the cords, haven't hidden them yet. According to a Houzz articles I read about hanging height, I hung the TV at perfect couch high of 42in (center of tv), but I think it's a little low for standing around watching. Parallel universe me would have hung it up to a foot higher. The tilt lock is a little weak making it hard to secure the tv at no tilt. There are similar mounts for a little less money, but this thing looked so heavy duty I had to pick it.Over all great mount and I would buy another if I purchase another tv. The mount didn't come with instructions but you can look up any mount model from the Echogear website and find it. 5Great quality, easy installation I'm currently using this on a 49KS8000 Samsung TV. Works perfectly. I did have to buy different mounting screws but that's not ECHOGEAR's fault since the TV required bigger screws. For those with a KS8000, this is the screw I used to mount the TV: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00917MSJE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ( Or you can search for Steel Machine Screw, Zinc Plated Finish, Pan Head, Phillips Drive, Meets DIN 7985, 45mm Length, Fully Threaded, M8-1.25 Metric Coarse Threads (Pack of 5) )TV has been mounted for 2 months now and has showed no signs of stress or falling apart. Product is built very well and installation was VERY simple. There are three parts to to the installation and 2 parts to the mount:1. This is the most time consuming step but is something that applies to ALL wall mounts: Finding a stud and placing the wall mount on it and making sure it's on straight. This is also the first part of the wall mount.2. Putting together the 2nd part of the wall mount ( the one that attaches to the TV ) and attaching it to the TV. This step is simple. Put it together according to your TV ( mine was 400x400 )3. Attaching the two pieces together. The hardest part of this was getting someone else to carry the TV ( mine was a 49" ) to help me mount it ( I'm not particularly strong or a big guy so you may be able to do this yourself! ). This last step is also one of the easiest mounting steps of all the TV mounts I've used. The part of the mount attached to the TV has a little hinge that you attach to the mount on the wall. No need to have a 2nd person hold the TV and then you having to screw it to the mount! Just carry the TV, attach to wall mount ( basically just connecting the hinge - once connected you don't even need a 2nd person for the next step ), then screw 2 little screws on the back to secure the 2 pieces together and you're done!Great quality, easy installation. Highly recommend! 5Good choice for a corner mount! So I've had this product for a week now and it's been great! I was unsure if I should get it considering that I needed a corner mount but I read the reviews and q & a section and saw someone had used it for that purpose and it worked out for them. Well I'm happy to say that I had it mounted on the corner and it has worked well for me as well. I mounted it on the left side of the corner where I wanted the tv and it's perfect there. I didn't want to get a transitional corner wall mount because you need to hang on both sides of the walls and I'm in a rental apt so I didn't want to have to worry about so many holes in the walls in the case I ever move. I can snuggle the tv and adjust it right up against the wall or move it around a bit (depending where I'm on the couch in sitting) and it's perfect viewing. The only thing is that when it's not snug against the wall it's a bit further out closer to the viewer than the wall. This would have been a concern for me because I have a 50" but the corner in my apt is wide enough that it doesn't block the door frames (which can be seen in the pics). The only concern I have about this mount is that I bought a Sony Bravia Android TV W800C and it covered the cable inputs (luckily for me I'm not using it but that would be an inconvenience for someone else and should be considered if purchasing this product since most Sony tv's are similar in the back). I love that it came with a complementary hdmi cable which was great because I needed it for my Apple TV (no, the irony of having an android tv and purchasing an Apple TV has not escaped me lol). Another concern I had was the actual mounting which was not something that could be done with just two people, it requires three people for a tv as big as mine so I just wanted to put that out there. 4Fantastic product and company. Everything about this is excellent. All the parts are high-quality, it was very carefully packaged, instructions were clear. In our small apartment, the huge range of motion makes this great for switch the viewing angle between living room and kitchen. The 15 degrees of tilt is way more ample than I had expected, and the little lever you use to tilt is very handy and well-implemented - we tilt it for the kitchen and set it straight for the other room, and its very easy to do that. They included a good hdmi cable (always handy) and neat little velcro loops that give you lots of options for simple cable management, so you don't have a crazy cable octopus once you've got this thing set up. Very cool detail. Before I purchased I was unsure about the whole VESA measurement business. Basically, my tv didn't seem to match the specifications. I emailed Echogear's customer service and got seriously amazing customer support. Not only were they super friendly and patient, they tested the measurements I gave them and showed me photos of their test. So, I was able to go ahead confident that this thing was compatible. There are cheaper options for similar products, but I was impressed with the attention to detail on this company's website, and between the quality of the product and the unreal customer support, I really think they are the way to go. Still way cheaper than what I was seeing in stores. The one general thing I would say, in an effort to help those like myself who were inexperienced with this sort of thing, is that when you're installing a tv on a mount, you need a second person to help you. Putting the mount itself together is extremely easy for one person, and drilling into a stud is very easy if you've ever done that. However, regardless of what brand you go with, putting a tv on a mount requires that you have a second person to hold the tv in place while you secure the mount to the back of the tv, otherwise there's just no reasonably safe way for one person to do it all on their lonesome. That may be obvious to you, but it hadn't occurred to me, so I had to wait till wife was home to complete the last step of the install. Again, that would be true for any brand, but I mention it since none of them seem to like to put that detail out there... 5
