Customer Reviews

Don't buy it because you want the easel! The easel sucks! The first Fintie product I bought was a case for my Paperwhite, which did everything I wanted it to. When I bought the 2013 Fire, I figured, well, go with a name I know, after researching so many cases for the thing. Right out of the box, this case felt cheaply made, nowhere near as nice as the Paperwhite case. The easel sucks. It's not sturdy, there's not much keeping it in the easel position, and it falls over if it's not on a level surface. Just a little slit that the edge of the case slips in and out of with too much ease. Now, you know the 2013 version of the Fire has buttons on the back of the case, and when the auto-rotate screen is not locked, you will have trouble figuring out which side has the button you're looking for. This case does not make this easier for you, at all, and becomes damn annoying when you hit the power button instead of the volume buttons. They say you get what you pay for, but I only paid $8 for the Paperwhite Fintie case, and $16 for this, and the cheaper one didn't give me any frustration at all. I also thought that the Fire case would look like the Paperwhite's Twin, I store them right near each other, but it really doesn't. The Paperwhite looks nicer, and the Fire case just looks cheap, like not even the same brand made it.If you don't care about the easel or the buttons, then yeah, I can recommend this. I dropped the Fire and there was no damage. So that's a plus.2Very SatisfiedI purchased this case for my new Kindle Fire HD 7 after having major issues with the Amazon origami case version and having to return that one. So far I am very happy with this purchase.First off, my case arrived a day earlier than expected. I ordered it on Friday morning for 2-day shipping with my Prime membership, expecting it on Tuesday afternoon as Amazon said, and was completely shocked to see the mailman coming to the door with a package on Monday morning. Next I was very happy with the look of the case .the origami one had almost a plastic look and feel to it, but this feels just like a regular leather case like I have for my old Kindle Keyboard. It is a little thicker than I m used to and adds a little weight to it, but not so much that it s a bother. It even gives me the feel like I m holding an actual book. The holes fit perfectly for the power switch, volume button, etc no having to adjust the case to find the buttons. No problems with charging I got a message on the Kindle when I first put the charger in that it may charge slower and the screen may not be as bright when it was in use and charging at the same time, but when not in use it is charging very quickly with the case on. There is a place to put the stylus which is wonderful no more having to look for where I put that every time I need to use it. Even though it is advertised just to stand for landscape, I can see where you could kind of bend the back up right to keep it in portrait, maybe needing to use something as a prop due to the weight of the Kindle in the front, but it could work if really necessary. The case fits perfectly The Kindle slips inside and then a velcro flap folds over behind the back of the Kindle to keep it from moving. The most important sell for me was the power button opening and the on/off sleep feature when opening and covering the cover. I had to return the origami mainly because it would not let me turn the Kindle on when the case was on it, and it would power itself off due to the way the case hit the power button. You had to be careful with your hands holding it because you could accidently power it off while using it. Because this case fits backwards, that isn t an issue as the button is at the top. As long as you have it on auto rotate, you won t even notice it s backwards. And I m having no problems with the auto sleep feature when I close the cover it goes to sleep, and it comes back on just like it s supposed to after re-opening the cover. There was a strong smell when I first opened the package as others have mentioned, but that was almost gone within a couple of hours of it being open. The only thing I would like to see changed is the way the cover closes on the Kindle. It feels like there is a little bit of a magnet keeping it closed, but it s not that strong. I would have liked to have had a strap/band that could be put over the flap to keep it from being pulled open if in a purse or just rubbed against something, like my old Kindle Keyboard case, but it s not a major issue. I would definitely recommend this product.5Great fit and quality. Have bought twice. This is a great quality case. This is our second time purchasing one of these cases. The first one lasted several years with lots of use from a child and was only replaced because it was a little worn and used looking, not broken. We tried another brand/style of kindle case recently and it was falling apart in a month, so we just purchased this one again, in another color and it's great. This is definitely the case we will continue to purchase for our kid's kindles. 5Nice looking case with one flaw. The first thing bothered me about this case was that it got in the way of the plug-in jack. I have to pull the case away from the Kindle so I can slide the jack in completely. I worry that it puts pressure on the jack when its charging and it will loosen and fail over time, which apparently is already an issue with some Kindles. Time will tell, I just try to be really careful plugging it in and not moving it too much while it's plugged in.For reading it's great. Comfortable and not too bulky, it can open like a book, from right to left, the way it should. I got used to the case being open in this position, but when I want to play a game, or some other app that won't flip 180 to accommodate this, it gets annoying. Probably the fault of the game developers, I'm not sure. Then again I don't really know which side is officially 'up' on the Kindle Fire, power button up or down?A feature I LOVE with this case is the Auto Sleep/Wake. Flip open the cover, the Kindle fires up, close the cover, it goes to sleep. SO much easier than fiddling around the back trying to push the right button to turn it off, more often than not I hit the wrong button.I would recommend this to a friend.4Fits my older model Kindle well It was time to replace my old, worn cover on my older generation Kindle. This cover fits well and protects my old Kindle. I am thankful for the descriptive pictures provided by the seller because I wasn't sure I was ordering the correct cover until I was able to see the cutouts on the back of the cover for the power button. I will buy from this seller again. 5Love it!!Love this case! Fits perfect, looks great, and feels good in the hands! My Kindle auto wakes when I open the case and auto sleeps when I close it. Nice fold-up feature creates a stable platform for propping the Kindle up when needed. Cut-outs provide easy access to the power and volume buttons and extra grooves along the top and bottom of the screen border allow for easy up/down swiping. Comes in a variety of cool colors and patterns and even has a built-in pen/pencil holder. Just an excellent case at a very affordable price!5Good case for my Kindle I was afraid of this case because of all the reviews saying it wouldn't fit the Kindle Fire HD, but this fits my model, "All new Kindle Fire HD 7" (the 2013 version).I didn't notice any odor as the other reviewers did.The only reason I didn't give the case a 5 star review -- Regardless of how the screen is rotated, the the Kindle has a top and bottom. I determined from the manual that Amazon meant for the Kindle's natural orientation to be with the charging port and power button on the bottom. When turning on the unit, this is the correct orientation so that the Kindle loading screen is right side up. My problem is, this case fits the Kindle upside down. I prefer for the case to open like a book, from the left. For that to happen, I had to orient the Kindle upside down (with the charging port and power button on top.)This isn't normally an issue because I use auto screen rotate, but I've noticed that some apps won't auto rotate. When I find these apps, I have to turn the Kindle the other way around, the way it was originally meant to be, making the case cover open on the right.I still like the case. It's just a minor annoyance when I find an app I want to use that doesn't auto rotate. 4Works on 2013 7" Kindle Fire HD, and excellent buy.Had difficulty inserting my new 2013 7" Kindle Fire HD into this case, but did finally manage to do so. It's a very tight fit. I wondered if I had gotten the wrong case for my Kindle. The case does provide auto-sleep when cover is closed, and auto-wake when opened, but I can barely hear the unit's speakers from within cover. Speaker ports are covered. The battery charging connection and the earphone connections are accessible, but not the power switch, so if the unit goes to sleep when the cover is open, you must close the cover, wait a moment, then reopen to wake up the unit. I miss not having access to the power switch. On the positive side, It's attractively priced, arrived intact and on schedule. It's also an attracting case, and the cover folds back on itself to provide a rear support for stand-alone viewing. It's possible I'll warm up to this Folio Case over time and continued use.Important update: After examining the folio case more thoroughly, I realized that if I removed the black sponge-like insert from the case before inserting my new Kindle Fire HD, I could resolve all my problems. The Kindle now easily fits, I now have access to the power and volume controls on the bottom of the unit, and the speakers are more audible, even though I still prefer listening with my ear-buds. In conclusion, the folio case rates five stars. It's attractively priced, and works as advertised, so long as you are smart enough to remove the black sponge-like insert first. I wasn't! I now highly recommend it!4Form And Function At A Reasonable PriceTo be honest, my Kindle is a stay-at-home device. It is never on the go and not susceptible to the abuse of constant travel. For these reasons, I was looking for a folio case that would provide just enough protection to keep it in great condition and to make it look good and feel comfortable when I am using it.The Fintie folio case provides all of this with an array of colors that would fit any personality. The fit is snug, the cutouts for the ports and buttons is sufficent, and the horizontal propping feature is useful.Just a few minor complaints that do not, in any way, take away from my rating of the product, are: 1) the cutout for the volume buttons could have be situated a little bit better 2) the cutout around the micro USB plug port (for charging) could, too, be better configured.Overall, this case is perfect for my needs, is at the right price and has a quality look and feel to it that has me confident that it will last the lifetime of the Kindle. I recommend this product to anyone who has similar needs and isn't looking to spend a wad of cash.5High Quality Look and FeelThis cover works very well. It has a high quality feel not unlike real leather. The stitching looks sturdy and well done. As a stand, it holds the Kindle in the landscape position. I though I would not like that but it turns out to be just fine. There is a magnet to keep the cover closed when not in use. It works well and stays closed in my brief case. Overall this is a good product. I also like that the Kindle fits into a sleeve like space with a Velcro closure. My Kindle has a chipped corner so this is preferable to the covers that grip the cornersOne note, this cover fits the Kindle HDX (3rd gen). Make sure you know exactly what model Kindle you have before ordering. I suspect that many of the complaints about fit could be due to cover/Kindle mismatch.5only one draw backThe only problem is this must have been made in a country where the regular reading of a book is different from the US. It seems a little backwards so you will end up opening it upside down to unlock it then you can flip it any way you want. At least it is opposite the cover of my first generation Kindle. The cut outs are perfect and the quality outstanding. It has a very slight magnet to keep it closed that works perfectly and the double back cover is a terrific support that fits into the back into a slot to make it stand in two different positions. The Kindle is inside this a little to give it a little buffer around the outer edge to in the event of dropping it to pad it just right. It does put the Kindle to sleep when you close it and awaken when you open, not sure how that works but it does. In addition you can use all the buttons through the cut outs and even hear the tiny speakers through the back. There is even a loop for a stylus pen on the side. This simple and attractive , I really love this cover.5Arrived on time.I ordered this case for an older tablet. I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived, it looks durable and it is! My tablet fell out of my bag and hit the ground. The case protected it and not a scratch on it. It is very easy to hold and when closed the tablet goes into sleep mode just as it is supposed to until you open the cover. If your looking for a nice looking case that protects your tablet, I highly recommend this.5Very good case.Let's get this right out of the way. Looking at reviews for this and other manufacturers, it is clear a lot of complaints are that the covers don't fit. I am certain most of those people did not double check their model number. Just go to Settings - Device Options - and slid down to Device Model. And there you have it. I have ordered 3 of these, 2 of them Moko, and all fit fine. Now, as to the Fintie version, it is great with 2 minor league exceptions. So I took off 1 star but this is still better than the Moko, which did not have the 2 issues. This cover has a better feel to it - more texture which makes for a more sure grip. The seams appear at to be secured better than the Moko units. Each lasted @ 1 year before too many of the edges came apart. Glue did not help. Now for the 2 hits : 1st - the Moko had a strap to keep the cover in place. That is nice when travelling and storing the device in a suitcase or such. I will make do with a large rubber band. The 2nd point is that the device does not always wake up when the cover is opened. It does most of the time and it is no big deal to press the power button and wake it up. But this cover is marketed that way so the dinger. All said and done, a good investment for protecting your device.4
