Excellent pocket light with a couple of caveats. Handy little flashlights that operate on 1 AA battery. Can't address battery life yet, but should last for several hours on high. Compact enough to put in pocket or hook clip to waistband or pocket and carry around so you'll never be without a light at night.Body is well built of metal. Easy to put battery in by unscrewing end cap that is sealed with O-ring. Changing beam width is easy by sliding lens ferrule in front of light. Selector switch works easily to turn off, dim output to low and to change to strobe. Here's one caveat: if you dim light and turn off, it turns back on in strobe mode instead of dim. If turned of in high mode, returns to high mode when turned back on.The other caveat is that lumen out put is about 150-200 on high, not the brightest but sufficient to throw beam a 100 ft or so and see if there are any bad raccoons lurking across my road or to find where I need to clean up after my dog has left his gift for the day.Overall this is a good light to carry in pocket, glove box or pretty much anywhere. Bright enough for paths and small open areas (1/4 football field size). I'll be buying more for the travel trailer to take camping and to pass out to friends when they forget their flashlights. 5Quality flashlight, bargain price but rotten O-rings. Plan on immediate replacement. This is an extremely small but versatile flashlight. It is exactly two inches longer than the palm of my hand. It's small enough that you can keep it in your bag or your pocket. The price is low enough that you can buy several and stash them in handy locations. It actually outperforms a flashlight 3x its price except for the intensity of the light beam. It has multiple modes which make it useful as a personal flashlight during emergencies like floods and earthquakes.I'm using it with a rechargeable lithium battery which makes quite a difference. The beam stayed at full intensity for about 8 hours. After that it started to dim gradually. At 10 hours, it was clear that the light intensity was dropping. I kept the beam on for 12 hours for the next two days. The amount of light kept dropping but it was still putting out light after 36 hours. After that there wasn't much point. the light was too dim to be useful for anything so I called it quits. But if you are interested in stocking an emergency kit, you'll want to consider adding lithium batteries. It has an adaptor which will hold 3 AAA batteries but I haven't used it yet.The build is very sturdy. The metal body is heavy, The glass lens is incredibly thick. There are some O-rings but they don't look substantial enough to me. But it does screw down firmly and precisely. It may be fully waterproof as advertised.Update: I'm afraid even with light use, the 0-ring has already broken. Easy enough to replace but get a better quality replacement. Should you shrug this off? I've never replaced an O-ring on the MagLight and it's been decades. I've docked a star from my rating. As for the price? Incredible. I've been checking low-cost flashlights at various hardware stores for the last few days. It stands heads and shoulders above the competition at this price point. 4Works for what I needed it to do. Overall, its a very good flash light so far. I've only personally used it once, but it was a gift for my mom who has lots of chickens and such, and also works night shift, so she doesn't often get to tend to them until its dark out, otherwise my dad does it during the day. She's been using those cheapo $2 Walmart flash lights that barely put out any light... which is why she's never really wanted to spend money on a better one because "they'll all just be this crap".So, since at work I have the 'original' model of this flash light, which works AMAZINGLY well, I figured I'd give this one a try since its basically the same exact thing. The only downside to this flash light 'so far', is that with the standard 3 AAA batteries, it isn't all that bright. I mean its DEFINITELY brighter than most other flash lights, but compared to mine, its pretty dim with just 3 AAA. BUT, mine is just as dim if you put 3 AAA in it to.Instead, I use one of those rechargable batteries people tend to use in their Mods for Vaping. I can't remember the model of it off the top of my head... But its black with yellow tips, and pretty big. It fits loosely in my flashlight, but firmly enough when the back cap is screwed on that it doesn't move around at all. AND its nearly twice the brightness with only 'slightly' more voltage than 3 AAA. This same exact battery fits snugly inside this flashlight. It sticks out about a centimeter/quarter of an inch, and gets firmly squished down when you try to screw the back cap on. BUT again, twice the brightness with very little increase in overall voltage. Well within the spec I'd say. I kind of want to say that these flashlights were 'meant' to run on these batteries, but its just cheaper for them to include a 3 AAA battery holder than it is to include a nice battery. Plus maybe its a shipping hazard they aren't rated for or something...But overall, with the better battery, this flash light is AWESOME... Definitely worth the 7 bucks I paid for it when it was on sale. And even at 9-10 dollars, I'd say this is DEFINITELY worth it. Its BRIGHT with the better battery, and its REALLY good even with 3 AAA batteries. Unlike mine, the telescoping head actually stays in place like it should. Mine the seal has broken off after years of use, so it just slides back and forth easily. But hey, I like it that way cause I have to use it one handed 90% of the time.Oh, one more thing. It has that glow in the dark ring around it. Its kinda neat, but its flakey. As in, the glow isn't consistent. Its like they just took the glow in the dark powder and tossed it into the container of their liquid whatever that seal is made from, stirred it maybe twice, and then injected it into the molds. From a distance its fine and you can't really tell. But when its in your hand, it just looks like a ratty old O-Ring that's been chewed on by radioactive rats.So yea, buy this thing if you ever wanted a pretty darn good flash light. and if you want a really darn good flash light, go to your local vaping store, buy that Black n Yellow battery, shove it into this flashlight, and watch as suddenly everything is twice as bright.Oh, did I mention that because the head telecopes you can see for MILES away?! Yes that's an exaggeration! But still! I use mine when I let the dog outside mostly. And I use it one handed because A) the leash is in the other hand, and B) I have my 9mm with me thanks to coyotes. My flash light (and this one too) can focus that beam REALLY well.. like DARN well. You can see the actual pattern of the LED Chip on this one! (mine is just a slight blur, but you can still make out the chip). Because of this, when I'm outside, I can focus it on the tree line near the creek and sweep it back and forth to see if anything is lurking. And I can't tell you the amount of times I've seen a Coyote or possum out there hunched down staring back at me. . . If it weren't for my flash light (which this one is based off of it seems), either me, or my dog, would be coyote chow. 4What I like about this design was the band that glows in ... Arrived on May 22, 2017, at the moment using AAA x3 batteries. Compared it to a $79.00 Trek LED flashlight for bicycles, no comparison; this Rockbirds 5 modes tactical flashlights are brighter. Originally purchased five days ago and at that time cost $4.99, it might behoove you to know; the next day the cost went up to $9.99 immediately. What I like about this design was the band that glows in the dark. Tonight will take it out of a night walk around the neighborhood. Will update this review if anything happens that might reflect negatively. 5Not to bright I bought a flashlight from Harbor Freight for less and it is by far brighter. Don't waste you money if you have a Harbor Freight near by. There are 5 modes to this light, but there are no papers to tell you how to make them work. I know just push the button on the end. The rest is up to you. Press and hold or once or twice??? 2Worth purchase, quality v. quantityLikes: pocket size, bright, has SOS setting, when turn head part clockwise the width of focus of brightness narrows and brightens. Also, has a slide clip so can just put on side of pants or pocket.Dislikes: None so far. :)Overall, satisfied with purchase.5real deal on these flashlightsthe brightness and the total package of different modes. most of all right there at the top with what I just mentioned the out of this world price and quick delivery. Iused for around the house, and fishing. great flashlights, size was awesome as well but I WAS WONDERING IF THESE LITTLE GUYS HAVE A BIG BROTHER OR NOT? MAYBE YOU CAN EMAIL ME WITH YES OR NO. THANX FOR THE BEST FLASHLIGHTS I HAVE PURCHASED TO DATE.5ValueGreat for pocket s of all my pants and shorts5The seller is the best!!!The flashlights are great!!Ok let me tell you the story.USPS, for the first time in my life, did NOT deliver my flashlights to me. Even though it said "Delivered" into my mailbox. So only two possibilities1. They never delivered it.2. The person put it in the wrong box. (Now I know I have dishonest neighbors. One of them started to be a little chatty out of the blue i suspect it to be them.)I reported it to USPS, and the seller. The seller made it right for me and I now have used and reviewed the items. In my opinion, these flash lights are GREAT!!!#1 The size of these are about 3.75 inches long by 1 inch diameter#2 The light is bright enough for me to use in dark places.#3 DO NOT LOOK AT THE LIGHT!! It has a lens on there.#4 They feel like it's made out of aluminum#5 it only takes 1 AA battery to shine the light. (i have many rechargeable ones#6 The place to unscrew is where the button is at.#7 The clip feels strong and doesn't seem like it would make the flashlight fly off easy.#8 Since they are this small, I might be able to use to look under a car hood.#9 It uses an LED bulb...#10 Don't be like me... the light zoom is not screw based... u just slide the lens piece back and forth...At first I was going to dismiss making the beam smaller. However I flashed it on my air vent and noticed on the focused light I can see into the vent. When the light is larger and hitting the whole vent I can't see anything.#11 LIGHTLY press the orange button to toggle through the 3 types... you do not need to fully turn it off and on to change the setting.5Surprisingly cool light and a great value! This is my new EDC replacing the Tank007 703. I don't know why but I just love it. As any flashaholic knows, a flashlight is personal, especially one of few that gets carried around every day. I think I like the feel and the grip and the wide flood the most. Highly recommend! Now on to the more practical part of the review so people can make an educated decision:- This indeed runs well and bright on a Liion 3.7V 14500 battery and is much brighter- The 14500 battery doesn't last long; in fact it lasts a bit less than my 10440 in my Tank 703- The zoom becomes a bit loose after a while but not in a bad way, just easier to move and more prone to move when you don't want it.- Mine arrive in full working order, my father in law's arrived Dead and he had to RMA it. Set your expectations low and you will be surprised.- When zoomed out it is a great soft and beautiful flood light. When zoomed in to around 80% it is nice and focused and a good beam pattern with soft edges. When fully zoomed in it is a large magnification of the emitter and an ugly square with lines just like the emitter is. It doesn't bother me but should be stated for those purists out there that look strongly at beam pattern.- It is a little heavy light for its size and quite thick compared to most 14500 lights but also feels short (don't think it is though). It feels more like a CR123 light. Kinda cool and refreshing- Reverse clicky (what would you expect for $5) but it is a good tailcap that can stand.- Threads are fairly smooth but the spring catches as you unscrew and makes it feel gritty when it really isn't.- Anodizing is surprisingly strong as I have it in my pocket with lots of other metal lights and knives and all the rest are now black and silver were the coating has rubbed off this is solid and nothing has come off in several months. Impressive!Overall it isn't the most competent light on the planet and a far cry from a high-end fenix light but for $5 and all the things it does right I would highly recommend it. Worst case it is a conversation piece, best case it becomes your new EDC like me. 5Nice!Good product, cheap and practical, good quality5Almost as bright as the sun Extremely happy with this mag light.Surprised that it only uses 3 AAA batteries because this mag light is BRIGHT!!!I am a guy that always has a flashlight in my pocket for work and I usually go for the cheap flashlights you find at the checkout counter at the hardware store...but they lose their strength after a while. I saw this item listed as a Flash Sale and grabbed it.It came right away and I love it.I will likely buy more from this company. 5Heavy Duty and Bright These are good quality tactical flashlights. They have three modes and in the video I am posting along with this review you can see the difference in the 3 modes which are changeable with a click of the button at the end of the flashlight. There is a sturdy pocket clip mounted to the side of the flashlights with two small screws. So far I haven't had any problems with the flashlights which seem to be pretty durable and are just what I expected.5Powerful little flashlight I bought this flashlight for my walking commute home, which has no streetlights. I needed something portable and bright and this little flashlight does the trick! It's very bright and can cast light over a wide area, illuminating my path. It's also compact and lightweight, which means that I can easily carry it with me with no problem. I am very satisfied with this flashlight and definitely recommend for anyone who is walking outside in the dark.As a bonus, the flashlight can "zoom" - and if there's some fog / mist in the dark, it feels like a lightsaber. 5Sounds like a scam from China The flashlight comes in a box with only a label. No instructions. So you have to look on the Amazon listing to see how it works. It also comes with a battery holder for three AAA batteries. I first put in new AAA batteries and took it outside and compared it to my 200 Lm flashlight and there wasn't a lot of difference. After some research it seems that to get the full power you need to use rechargeable 18650 battery which is 3.7v instead of the AAA 1.5v.. I bought 2 with a charger on Amazon for $16 and tried the light again. Now it is substantially brighter then my 200 Lm light. As I used it more I started to really like it because it has the zoom feather, and the hi / low setting. It is brighter than any flashlight I have ever seen. Also you buy no more AAA batteries. It does seem to be well made. Just remember that instead of $10 it is really about $26 to get what you are looking for with a spare 18650 battery. 5lightweight,good for group camping I got the 4 pack camping lights the other day.I love them much as they are lightweight and practical. The lights are strong and have zoom in and out.3 light modes: strong,SOS,weak.and it has a clip that is sweet.and the price is so reasonable. We need more than 1 flashlight and buying 4 pack is saving some dollars.thanks! 5Super Handy! We use these while walking our dog. Their size makes it easy to hold both the flashlight and the leash hand loop in the same hand. Brightness, small size, and dependability, what's not to like!5SO BRIGHT!!My son and husband LOVE these. They are so bright! They can see across the field! These aren't your cheep dollar store brand. We haven't had them long enough to judge the battery life or water resistance yet.5Bright & CompactFirst ordered in August 2017 (battery is still good) and was so impressed, I ordered a second set. Bright and compact, I have them in the car and in different rooms of the house. Because it's compact, it's just the right size when you need to illuminate an area where you have limited space and wouldn't be able to fit a larger flashlight.5Miniature in size & price, but big on light output!Given my many prior, poor experiences with several of the low-price/knockoff CREE type LED, zoomable style flashlights I've bought of this design, these lights are a surprisingly good purchase. I've left off 1 of the 5 stars for 2 main reasons detailed in PRO's/CON's list below:CONS:1- Without (very) fresh batteries, the luminosity quoted in the product description isn't consistently provided by these lights- except on full, fresh batteries, the light is much dimmer than it can be when the light has fully powered batteries in it, so you'll end up going through batteries faster than normal (thankfully, the "Amazon Basics" AA batteries are very good quality & are very cheap compared to name-brands, so this is a solveable issue, just wasteful, seeing as you end up tossing batteries which still hold some charge- I've ended up using the 1/2 dead flashlight batteries in my cable box remotes in an effort not to waste them).2- Like many of the economical flashlights being sold of this design type, sometimes the power-button press to cycle between modes happens without your input, turning on the strobe setting or the lower light output setting without my intending to do so by pressing the power button.PROS:1- These lights are very compact, yet with fully charged batteries, they have a high light output for their size. Given the amount of light they provide when fully powered, they do a good job to the point that my wife always keeps one in her purse & her car for being about at night &/or walking our dog after dark.2- Unlike many of the other flashlights I've bought of this design/type, these lights have held up quality-wise over a decent amount of use- working just as they well as they did when they'd 1st arrived.3- The price asked would be inexpensive for 1 CREE-type LED light of this design & high quality, so very good value for a 2 pack!Overall I certainly recommend them if you're looking for a good, low-cost & compact CREE-type LED, zoomable flashlight which works well & is of good quality..4
