A new fit to an Old product. Works perfectly...having and older AMP with screw terminals for speaker connections. I noticed they will also fit a banana plug..This works perfect for quick on and off for my outdoor events using this AMP..This device saved me from replacing the AMP..for something a little more speaker connection friendly. The order was at my front porch in about 2 days..good service as well..Mave 5Does what it is supposed to do - watch your polarity! Does what it is supposed to: convert banana plug posts on the back of a power amp to a 1/4" jack for a speaker cable. You have to pay attention to which speaker post is ground (black), but this is true regardless of whether you are using this adapter or just wiring up raw wire to the post with a 1/4" jack at the other end. Taping over the metal part of the jack to avoid amps going into protection mode only obscures a reversed polarity connection. The banana plug end is marked, so there shouldn't be any surprises. 5Tape metal part These work fine but can be plugged in with pos. and neg. switched. Not clear which way to plug since not marked. We blew an amp with them when metal 1/4" end touched metal on amp and shorted out. If you buy these tape the metal portion and try to get + and - identified. 3Good Solid Connections. I wasn t sure if these are what I needed. They arrived quickly and did exactly what I needed them to do. I m not much for giving out Free reviews but this time I ll make an exception. They are well built and good quality. I needed to use the speaker outputs on my Crown 2502 to get a good signal to my EV Speakers for those days when you want to Rock Out without damaging the more expensive Vintage Infinity Speakers. These did the trick, well built and solid connections on both ends. I would happily order them again. 5Very well-built adapter. However the banana plugs were spaced ... Very well-built adapter. However the banana plugs were spaced too close to fit into my Pioneer receiver. Did not know that the banana plug spacing are not standardized. I ended up removing the banana plugs and screwed the wires directly into the speaker terminal, which worked well. 4Perfect adapters for what I needed Quality made, no issues and is exactly what I needed to get my old school speakers and amp to work with my new school sound modules. Have JBL 4312A monitors powered by Crown D-75, items I received as hand-me-downs when a radio station went digital. The banana clip adapters for quarter inch connectors made hooking everything up simple, fast and effective. No stripping wires; was up and running minutes. Thanks for making a bridge between the old with new!IHaven't been using very long, so durability will of course come with time. So far so good! Highly recommend. 5Cables work great. I didn't dissect the cables, but from the outside they look fairly robust. The banana plugs match my older Yamaha power amp. I did wrap tape around the 1/4" female jacks. They are metal which means they are durable, but the outside of the barrels is connected to the negative output of the power amp. If you don't pay attention when plugging in the banana plugs, you can easily reverse one pair, or both, and have the power output on the outside of the barrels. If you are in a busy session and have to do some quick patching, it can happen quite easily. The last set I used were plastic barrels, but they started getting intermittent contact after a few years. 4TSR sockets soldered incorrectly These are for speaker use, so you d think they would use mono 1/4 connectors. Wrong. They use Female TSR soldered the positive to the sleeve and not the tip. Not worth the hassle to return them so I just solder bridges the tip and sleeve. 2Generally well made, but one is now shorting out. I use these once per week to setup a band gig. Seem well made, but I'm about 2 months into using them (so 8 times now), and one of the adapters will short out periodically. Issue seems to be where in the 1/4" jack side. With just the adapter plugged into my amp, if the cable going into the 1/4" jack flexes much at all, the amp throws a FAULT indicator, and the amp shuts down shortly afterwards. If I wiggle the cable a bit and keep it perfectly straight, the short goes away. In the end, I don't want to worry about keeping the adapter in a specific position so it doesn't short. Not sure if I can exchange for another one at this point, but I'll see.Update: I decided to attempt repair myself. Removed the rear 1/4" jack cover and cut back a small piece of the black strink wrap. Discovered that they use "stereo" aka TRS 1/4" jacks that have 3 connectors. The "ring sleeve" connector isn't used, since the jack is being used as a "mono" aka TS jack. Unfortunately, the heat shrink tubing presses that unused connector right against the "tip sleeve" connector, shorting out the entire jack. I ended up cutting off the unused connector. Shorting problem is gone now. Manufacturer should have done this during assembly, but it is an easy fix. 2Great quality. I recommend these. We have a speaker that has the connectors where you clip raw speaker wires. Black and red. We needed to connect it to a system that uses 1/4" connectors. We were told that the banana connectors would fit where the raw wires go. The red and black wire clips on the speaker are about 3/4" apart. The banana connector fits perfectly. The other end of the adapter connects to the 1/4" fitting. 5
