Great Product...but... All in all, very happy with the product. I purchased 2 of them and one came with the pivot pin not staying in place. I was able to put tape over either side and can still use it, but I would prefer to not have to worry the pin falling out. The other unit is perfect and the pivot pin does not even budge.Take a look at the pictures and you can see that it can hold quite a bit of weight at a 90 degree angle. I did have to put a velcro looking-loop around the tube because it is so smooth. Not a big deal and it did not slip in over 4 hours of the camera and rotator on the unit. 4Works well This is an updated review. I'm now giving this 5 stars instead of the 3 stars I gave it previously. While the P&S camera I used on this before shook too much but didn't shake on my previous mount, I narrowed it down to the threading connection points. I'm not sure why that particular P&S camera of mine doesn't "sit" particularly well on the mount. I recently decided to finally get myself an action camera...and when I mount that on this clamp it "sits" very well and I get very good shake free footage most of the time! 5A super stable bike clamp by design for the action camera biker Rarely given 5 stars and here is why. I have tried a number of handlebar camera clamps and found they do not hold steady during a ride. The camera eventually droops in some direction due to the road vibration because the clamp pivot ball slips no matter how much tightened. The Grifiti manages to overcome the road vibration pivot ball slip thru design. Aside from the robust solid metal construction the key ball surface is not smooth and is scored with a pattern which holds the ball steady under pressure. I am happy to say I can stop looking for such a clamp now. If I were Grifiti the next step would be to insert a shock mount in between the clamp and the pivoting ball unit for additional stabilization. Think of Grifiti as a bargain Manfrotto. 5Very well built and solid. Very solid clamp. I was expecting something plastic for the price so I was pleasantly surprised when it was all metal and very solid! Grip works great on the goose neck of my tripod. I do not foresee this slipping but haven;t tried it yet. Mount hold my camera and.or GoPro very well. I would not chance a DSLR. 5Won't stay tight on the bike handlebar with camera mounted Well, I had high hopes for this. I wanted something to use to mount my camera (a Panasonic Lumix DMC -- so not a big camera, but not a real small one, either) to my Giant bicycle handlebar, so I could snap pictures or take video from the bike, or remove and remount it quickly if I came across something I wanted take a picture. The item arrived very quickly, and it certainly seems quite sturdy. It was easy to figure out and mount. I attached it as tightly as I could by hand to the handlebar, mounted the camera, and took off on the road in my neighborhood to the local bike trail. Within less than a quarter mile, I saw that the grip on the handlebar was loosening, and the camera starting to tilt a bit. So I stopped and tightened it again, trying to get it tighter. The same thing kept happening. I don't think it would have come off, but it was steadily loosening and tilting, and would have eventually flopped forwards or backwards. For the first mile of the bike trail I simply held on to it to keep it from doing so, and then finally had to give up. I removed the camera from the mount and retightened it. Without the weight of the camera, it stayed on and upright the rest of the ride (8 miles or so). (For reference, I think my camera weighs about 14 oz.) I should note that the handlebar on my bike is not quite round, so perhaps with a round handlebar it would have gripped more securely. However, the problem seems to be that there is no way to lock it in place. It's just screwed down, and with the vibration of the ride the screw gradually loosens. 2Sturdy and adjustable These are very sturdy, and can be adjusted to any orientation you want. Unfortunately, there's no quick release lever, and getting the adjustment correct can be a pain. Still, they fit 1" diameter pipes or bars as advertised and I'm pretty sure you could mount them to something a bit thicker too. I use them to mount Vive basestations/lighthouses to a couple of contractor poles from Harbor Freight. (They call them cargo bars.) The combo of the poles and these mounts makes for an easily portable and adjustable Vive setup. 4Good for camera to 100mph I use this to hold camera on my motorcycle handlebars. The bike does not have a fairing so pretty much sits in the main airflow. The previous plastic clamp would move due to the ball adjustment . This bad boy works up to at least 100mph. 5more like a three and a half The four star rating is not a solid four, more like a three and a half. First I bought the regular nootle, and the quality was atrocious. No matter how tightly you clamped, the main joint with the threaded screw was very wobbly. I thought that upgrading to the heavy duty version would solve that problem, but it's still not quite right. These are much higher quality, and much heavier, but still feel a bit flimsy in certain areas. For reference, I use these to mount HTC Vive lighthouses. 4Awesome. I use it with a DSLR and I ... HEAVY DUTY! Awesome. I use it with a DSLR and I have no whims about it breaking. Which the clamp went slightly bigger for my production needs, but it does as it was originally intended for. I just have some larger bars I'd like it to attach too. None the less I engineered my own solution.cheers! 5Not for use in a marine environment! Mounted this on my T-top railing on my boat. Only attached my camera once to test it out. Came back a couple weeks later and the 1/4 20 camera mount threads were rusted solid. The clamp is aluminum and other hardware stainless. The pivot ball and camera mount are cheap ferrous metal that rusted to an unusable state within two weeks. The mount otherwise seems fairly rugged and clamps well to smooth surfaces. 3
