Nice I got this for a Canon 430ex II flash. Seems to be the perfect size for this Speedlight. Fits snuggly but the material is more a hard plastic than a rubber so it doesn't grip to the flash particularly well. Don't think I'd go walking around with this without putting on gaffer tape to hold it on. Myself, I used the Flex Mount on a stand with the Globe Diffuser. I was able to put the flash head both straight up and at a 90-degree angle and the Flex Mount stayed on without tape. One time I had the flash head at a 45-degree angle with the Flex Mount and Globe attached. I was concerned that the 430ex II head would not stay at the 45-degree angle due to the weight of the Mount/Globe combo, but it did stay, despite the 430 not having a lock at 45 degrees. Once, someone walked by and accidentally kicked the stand when that all was at 45 degrees and the 430 head dropped down to 90 degrees. The Flex Mount did stay on the flash, luckily. 4Does not fit Sony F56AM either Contrary to the listing and packaging claims this unit will not fit on my Sony F56AM, the opening is too small by at least 3/8". But since I have multiple flashes I tried it on the smaller Sony F42AM and the smaller Minolta 3600HSD, the result is it will not fit any of them, in this case the opening is too small by about 1/4".So I have two choices, send it back or, as the previous reviewer did, cut the rubber and hope to make it fit. It seems to me that there may be a problem at the packing facility putting the wrong size unit in the box, or the units being mislabeled when they come off the assembly line. The model number is not embossed or cast into the plastic/rubber, it's only a stick on label. The best option, if you live near a dealer, is to take your flash in to the shop and make sure it fits before you buy. It appears to be a crapshoot buying on line.Edit 12/6/10 - I was able to, after some rather extreme pulling and tugging, stretch the rubber mount enough to get it to fit on the Sony F42AM, so for me it is usable with the two of those that I have. It still will not fit the F56AM that I bought it for without cutting the rubber away from the inside of the mount. 1Perfect for the portable studio I use the Interfit Strobies system to set up portable studio and it works so well I now use them in my regular studio as well. They system is inexpensive, but well made and very easy to use and setup. The pieces feel delicate because they are so light weight, but they are actually very sturdy. It works great with filter and gels and plays nice with i-ttl. Because of the reasonable pricing and variety of modifiers available for this system I am able to experiment with many more lighting options then I have ever before and this has allowed me to learn a lot of new techniques I would never have know about. Systems like this make studio setup light weight and affordable. I will never have to carry around multiple heavy lighting equipment bags again! :-D I highly recommend. 5Falls off on occasion... I use this on an SB600 which it fits just fine but if you have something heavy on it or the camera tilted forward it has a tendency to want to slide off. Its flexible rubber material is of good quality for the type of apparatus and has a wide array of attachments to place on it. Lots of lighting opportunities with Interfit Strobies! Personally, I have the barn door and the globe diffuser and love the creativity they allow. I dinged it a star because it falls off. 4Well built mount. This is a very well built mount. This is the 2nd mount I've ordered to allow me to use my Interfit Strobies portrait kit with multiple flashes. The mount comes with extra plastic clips to hold on the modifiers. I'd recommend this to any user with a YN-560, Canon 580EXII or Nissin Di622. (It may work with other flashes, but those are the three flashes I have and use this mount with) 5it's alright I thought this one would let you use any strobe modifier, but apparently it only work with the "interfit strobies" line.My mistake for not reading more into it, but it managed to work with my neewer softbox. The fit was nice but one time it did fall off my speedlight, wish it had at least a velcro strap or something as backup.Overall pretty good. 4Fits the 430 EX ok Update: give yourself a favor and buy the Uni-Mount! That holds more securely with the vice grip locking and it's a bit lighter! Just make sure to buy the proper attachments as they aren't interchangeable between the to mounts! Also the Uni-Mount uses a twist and lock system for attaching items, compared to the Flex-Mount's clips. It fit on the 430 EX ok, but am sure there could be a better/solid way to mount it on the flash. With the Globe diffuser I had to add some gaffers tape to avoid it coming off. 4Flex Mount for 580EX I bought this to secure a beauty dish to my wife's flash. Spray painted an appropriately sized plastic bowl, used this as a mount and a small saucer for the bounce portion. For under 25 bucks, including hardware and spraypaint, I imitated two of the 80 dollar "cheap" beauty dishes sold here. A matte white and a matte silver 16" would have cost 160 bucks from the knockoff companies and 4 or 5 hundred from the name brand companies. FYI, I tried a light metal bowl initially that was unused in the kitchen, but it proved too heavy to mount directly to the flash. As much as a 580exII costs, I'm not taking any chances. Beauty dishes are worth the trouble to DIY, even I can see the difference. I'm not sure they make as big a difference as the cost implies though, if you bought them outright. I'm not the photographer in the family, but I do know a good photo when I see one. I am going to purchase another flex mount and buy the grid system that goes with it for her. The two mounts that I have fit snug and I did not have to use any persuasion or retrofitting techniques, read rubber hammer and dremel tool, for them to fit appropriately. 5Doesn't fit my SB26 The system as a whole seems clever, but doesn't inspire confidence. The flexmount for the SB26 doesn't even come close to fitting the SB26. I can't imagine how you could group the SB26 with the SB27/28 since the SB26 is so much larger. After an hour of trying to get the flexmount on the flash, I gave up and decided to see if it would fit if I cut off some of the inner gripping fins. I cut off enough of the fins to get the thing jammed on and it was so distorted that I immediately realized that Interfit didn't do the slightest research on the SB26 when assigning the SGM300 mount.Since I also purchased the portrait kit and am just curious enough to give it a try, I'm going to order the proper mount that corresponds to the actual dimensions of the SB26 flash face.As is the case with so much photogrpahy gear, the lack of thoroughness is a shame. 1Five Stars a little heavy for hand held flash but it does work 5
