Never used this brand before so I dont know about reliability, But price is GREAT and product seems solid. Metal enclosure not plastic. See photos of the chips and speeds attached. This is a good speed for SATA based SSD BUT SLIGHTLY under advertised speed (that is not uncommon) ! VERY VERY Stable - Most drives bounce around alot when doing a speed test. I will sell them to my customers!! 4It s worth it, might not be the best but you get what you pay for... My XPS1330 was 10 yes old. It has. Boot time if 1 min 10 second in Ubuntu 18.04. I brought this one to revive my good old laptop, replaced Hd with this SSD, logged into BIOS, changed the boot sequence, changed SATA interface and installed Ubuntu 18.04 minimum features, boom now the boot time is 24 seconds or less. Impressive for a 10 year old laptop. I recommend this product if you are doing similar to what I did. 5Time will tell So far so good I will come back and update this review if any of them fail. I purchased 7 of the 120GB drives for work. Every 48 hours we power them down and put them in another unit and run testing software to test the computer. So pretty much they take a pounding and live a rough life so if and when one of them fails I will update this review. 5Good speeds, working well. Just purchased this, and I do indeed get around the full speed of what was shown on the pictures for this drive. As an OS drive, with AS SSD, I got a total score of 1040. Seq 496.46/385.14, 4k:35.08/70.44 MB/s, 4k-64Thrd: 357.40/255.78, Acc Time .099ms/.071 msFor $50, this is a very fast SSD. I'll see how it continues to hold up.EDIT: I bought another one, July 7, 2016 so there hasn't been a bait and switch or anything like that. Here are the results of a clean drive:[...]Seq Q32T1: 553/4094k Q32T1: 313/297Seq: 533/3904k: 25.39/101.0EDIT: The 4k speeds have significantly lowered, hmm. They may have swapped to a different internals for the newer ssds, this may be a bait and switch. 5Great on a budget SSD Stuck this SSD in a coworker's budget mITX build and honestly, for the price I was impressed. Boot times are very quick, responsiveness is great, even with the lowly Pentium G4600 to run it (and using the integrated graphics). Coupled it with a WD Blue 1TB for storage and it's hard to beat at the price paid. Didn't go testing speeds or anything as it's a leap over a mechanical drive any day which is why it was purchased in the first place. I wouldn't expect Samsung 960 EVO/PRO speeds anyway, but it'd be perfect for a laptop uprgrade or any budget OS drive in my opinion.Don't know about longevity, but I'm sure I'll hear from him if it dies, so unless this review is edited in the future, consider this a good experience overall.I do wish it had come with a cable, or at least a conversion kit to 3.5" bay but those aren't really necessary inclusions and any modern case will have screws and a 2.5" bay to put this in that come standard. 4Nice economy SSD. I bought this economy SSD so that I would have a spare SSD. My roommate was finding her laptop (used only for travel) a little old and arthritic, even though we had maxed out the memory, so, I used this drive to replace a WD 2.5" 5400 rpm in her computer. Suddenly her laptop is no longer a travel only make do, but, with the SSD it is now the easy near equal of her desktop tower.I used an Acronis USB to SATA adapter I had, and EasyGig IV that I have had for several years. In about 40 minutes the WD had been cloned onto the KingDian and about 15 minutes later a fully functional, much smoother operating laptop was ready to go. The cloning went without a hitch, the OS (Win7, 64 bit) has been operating flawlessly for about a week now. I am encouraged by a smart drive utility that tells me the disk is functioning smoothly, and is estimated to continue so until about 2024 (assuming certain drive parameters.)I am very pleased with this drive, and intend to keep one or two of these around for grins and giggles. I will update should anything averse happen, but assuming nothing further, my December of 2015 review will stand. 5120-GB &128-GB KingDian Drives Dead In 2 Years I nought 3 of these low-grade drives back in 2017, and the last one just died! The 128-GB versions were installed into a Dell Desktop and a Gigabyte System, the third one that just died was installed into a Dell Lattitude D620 Laptop.2 Years and a 100% failure rate. No Way would I ever trust these SSD's nor wouldI recommend them to anyone. Seriously - - - - - - - - - - - SSD's have dropped to the pointwhere you can buy a name brand drive like ADATA, Crucial, Kingston, SanDisk etc. for 5 bucksmore and you will get something that is many times more reliable, and will last. You Have Been Warned. 2Drive keeps freezing up The drive keeps locking up on access. It's random, but I can make it happen on a regular basis just doing simple things like launching Word or Chrome. It will sit there and do nothing for anywhere from 5 to 40 seconds. I have even had it completely lock up and refuse to do anything. After hitting the system reset button it wasn't even showing the drive in the device list for BIOS. I had to actually power off and on to get it to see the drive again. I will be sending this drive back as it's completely unreliable. 1Great experience while being unknown brand (for me) Gotta admit. I first bought it because it was one of the cheapest options with cache on it and as well as for curiosity.I have to say that the Drive has been working really good on my laptop, and hasn't give me any problems.Bought it back a year ago for $50, now is $25.For that price I would say that no computer/ laptop should go without an SSD. 5
