Customer Reviews

yay I bought this product for my Innotab. I bought a 32GB SD card from Duracell (no kidding) last year so I decided to buy my next SD card from another unknown, KomputerBay. The price was great, the card matched the product's picture exactly, and it fit perfectly in my computer. I copied a couple of movies, inserted the card and some batteries in my Innotab, and had a great time. The card is class 10, which means it copies faster than three times faster than a class 4, roughly. For me, it was 2MB/s because it was copying off of a USB 2.0 enabled external hard drive, so I can't comment on the top speed. But it kept skipping files to copy saying that it was "corrupted" when the same files were copied to my Duracell 32GB. 3Not Reliable.. Lost all my pictures I took the 32GB Class 10 SD card for my photo trip. The card failed to read from my computer after 4 days of photo shoots. I lost all my pictures that was stored on the SD card. Trying to recover the files, but the SD is showing up only has 1GB capacity. I have try on multiple PCs and card readers and they all shows only with 1GB of capacity.I have used all other brands of SD cards and this is first time the card failed after 3 months and losing all my pictures is the most costly and irreplaceable. 1Worked GREAT the first time I used it, then it started erasing all of my photographs. I bought this card after the Komputerbay brand was recommended by a friend who is highly selective about all of his camera equipment.I purchased it in November to photograph a small concert with my Canon T2i. It worked great, I was pleased with getting a great product for a great price. After the concert I switched back over to my old 16GB memory card just because I felt like it.The next March I went to Canada for a weekend trip and dug out this memory card since I would be walking around all day taking photos. I cleared all of the existing photos from the card on my T2i, and went on my merry way taking photos. Halfway through the day, I realized that the card had stored about 30 photos from that morning, but after that was erasing my photos once I turned off my camera. Luckily I had my other memory card with me and that worked, so I knew the problem was the memory card and not my camera. When I had access to a computer again, I put the 30 photos on my computer, and then tried to wipe the card clean and format it. The pictures will not erase from the card, and the card will not format. The card is completely useless to me now. 1PASS Full Capacity After trying SD cards from a different website and receiving counterfeits (they did issue refunds), I decided to come back to Amazon. I now run a capacity test on all new SD cards to avoid loosing data or media. PC or device capacity reports are not reliable, because information can be forged on the SD card. Run a capacity test which will write & read to each sector verifying true capacity. I use the card for movies, works fine. 5Excellent card, great price I haven't done any read-write speed tests, but my semi-informed opinion is that this card stacks up very well against the competition. Upon receiving this card, I formatted it, and that was very quick. Someone more knowledgeable than I may scoff at me for being so naive, but this was good enough for me.What is REALLY great about this product, is its price. For about $19, you can't do better than this. That works out to be $0.593/GB -- 60 cents per GB is a great, great price. Never again shall I buy the overpriced media from Scandisk or Transcend, etc. 5Works as advertised Using this KomputerBay 32GB Class 10 card, I shot over 600 pics, plus thirty-three video clips averaging over 30 seconds each, on a three-week-long car drive and boat cruise. Camera is Canon Powershot SX260 HS. Weather ranged from hot and dry to wet and raining. Video was 1080p. No glitches or problems shooting or copying the pics to my XP notebook on the trip or to my Win 7 desktop when I got home. Recorded videos look good, no memory glitches or dropouts. Copy speed from card to my Win 7 PC was about 22MB per second, which exceeds the vendor spec. So far so good! 4Good SDHC card, great price I was looking for a high-capacity storage card for one of my tablets. I needed a Class 4 minimum SCHC card and was pleasantly surprised to find that price-wise, the KomputerBay 32GB Class 10 SDHC Ultra High Speed Memory Card Read 20MB/s Write 15MB/s beat out the lower-speed cards I was looking at (Class 6 and up). I've had the card just over a month, and have had no problems or issues with it. If I need more storage or get another device needing a SDHC card, KomputerBay will definitely be at the top of my shopping list.Another pleasant surprise was that it arrived a day earlier than the order tracking expected delivery date. 5Lousy quality Pros: relatively quick, great capacity and reliable in transfer.Cons: After inserting and reinserting card less than 10 times, serious cracks developed, first at the weld, but soon a spider web all over the back of the card.As I am using this card solely for photography in my Pentax K-5, I now can only use the card with the camera and USB-cable, as the cracks make one more insert and reinsert impossible. Spend a few extra bucks on a quality card. Its a shame, really, for the innards are great. Just not a quality housing, and there is no way of getting around the brittle plastic. If it were a micro SD, one could have hid it in the adapter... 1Physically cracked after not much use This was originally a 5 star review, and it would have stayed that way had the card not physically cracked under very light use. This isn't something I normally consider as a downside of cheap memory cards - I'm usually just concerned with whether they work and how fast they are. In those areas, this card is fine. The problem is the card is apparently made in two plastic halves, with the chips sandwiched in the middle. When you take the card out of a device (say, a camera) and put it into another device (say, a memory card reader), you're putting a very small amount of physical stress on the card just from handling it and pushing it in. I do this gently - I don't jam stuff in there. Even still, after literally maybe 10 or so moves from my camera into my laptop and back, the card split in half. And the front part of the bottom half (where the cutouts for the contacts are) is so thin that when this happened, it also broke. I was able to glue it back together to the point that I was at least able to get my photos off one last time, but that was it. It broke again just pulling it out and I was not able to get it back together, nor did I really want to try.If you plan to stick this card in a camera or tablet or something and just leave it there forever, it's probably fine. If you do what I do and move your card back and forth between devices and a laptop or reader, get something else. 1Exactly what it says it is. Fast. Incredible value. With memory cards, it's not often that the Seller puts performance data in the title of the item, but it's right there for the world to see: "Read 20MB/s Write 15MB/s", and that's exactly the speed I got from this card when transferring over 20GB of data over the built-in card reader in my HP laptop. (I get exactly the same transfer speeds as I do from another brand's 16GB Class 10 card.)Perhaps others' reviews suggesting slow transfer speeds has more to do with their card reader or computer than with this card itself. So when something performs as advertised, that's worth 5 stars by itself. But when you add the incredible price and Amazon Prime eligibility, this card is simply an incredible value.I have used it in two fast cameras, a Panasonic FZ150 and a Canon SX40 HS, and it operates flawlessly and fast. What a deal! I'm happy.UPDATE - 2012-06-30: I have bought 3 of these 32GB Class 10 SDHC cards from KomputerBay now, and they all work great, were shipped fast, and are an outstanding value from an outstanding seller! 5
