Bad Engineers! Honestly, for 20 bucks its kind of hard not to give this 5 stars. Its well made, and seems to be built to last. Not very hard to install, just had to drill pilot holes and bolt the sucker up there with the included bolts. The ONLY thing that frustrated me was the bolt used for the adjustement to make the tv tilt down. The bolt is smooth head bolt with nothing to hold onto while tightening the nut on the other end. Had to use some needle nose, Bad Engineers!!!Other than that its great for the price. Would recommend to anyone. Just MAKE SURE YOU BOLT INTO A STUD. Mounting into Dry wall wont hold. 5Great mount for the price. This tv mount worked great for me, I used it on a 40" Philips TV, it even has a removable plastic to organize the cables, it also feels very sturdy,The screws that I need it did not come with it, I found the screws elsewhere but I still need to add washers cause the holes of the mount were to big for the head of the screw.Installation is simple if you know what you are doing, but If the mount starts to come off the wall. IS YOUR FAULT FOR MAKING THE WHOLES TOO BIG.Make sure you find the studs and PRE-DRILL, 5Not Vizio friendly without a trip to the hardware store I have mounted many TVs over the years, but this was hands down the most irritating. I have a 32" inch Vizio. The TV itself did not come with screw mounts, and the screws provided with the mount were all way too large. I found some screws that actually fit the back of the TV in my garage, but they were a bit long. Fortunately the hardware provided include spacers. I had it all mounted up to the back of the TV using the spacers and attempted to hang it on the arm. The spacers were too wide and got in the way, preventing a clean connection. Even smaller spacers that I happened to have from something else were also too large and got in the way. I had to head to the hardware store to buy 4 short screws that would work. Not convenient. At all.Moral of the story? Consider looking elsewhere if you have a Vizio unless you keep a stash of small machine screws on-hand. 25 cents worth of screws would have made all the difference. The mount itself is strong, sturdy, and looks attractive (not that you can see it once the TV is on it). 3Excellent mount, great price, very pleased This is a well designed and manufactured mount. I say this as a slightly demanding consumer and as someone who has been involved in mechanical design and manufacturing for decades. It is very rigid even when fully extended. The articulating arms move smoothly yet have enough friction to keep the TV in any position one chooses. The ranges of the tilt and inclination adjustments are more than adequate for my needs and are simple to make using the included wrench. The mount is made from a combination of stamped steel and welded steel tubing. A nice touch is the use of button socket head capscrews with smootly rounded heads to join the various sections of the arm. The clean, smooth welds, absence of any exposed nuts or threads on the bolts that hold the arms together, and the nicely done black crinkle finish give this mount a sleek and refined appearance.Installation is simple as long as you have the skills and basic tools required to make a solid attachment to the wall of your choice.Installation of the TV onto the mount is simple since the plate to which the TV attaches is easily removable from the end of the mount arm. Just remove this plate from the arm and attach it to the back of your TV using four of the screws included in the mount kit. The design of this removable plate allows it, along with your now attached TV, to hang safely on the end of the mount arm while you install nuts on two studs in the plate to fully secure your TV to the arm. Mounting our 42" LCD TV was an easy one person job. 5Heavy duty mount for your TV Despite what the description said, it did not come with mounting hardware. But, based on the description of the stuff that was supposed to be in the box, I wouldn't have used it anyway. I went to the hardware store and bought 3 good pan-head screws that just barely fit through the mounting holes -- I think about 1 1/2" long. Then I used a stud finder to drill/attach the mount directly to the stud with those 3 heavy-duty screws. It is heavy so find a friend to hold it in place while you mark, drill, and screw the mount in place. The mount works just like it said it would. 5Unexpected Complications OK. So, I read that the instructions were not helpful but that the installation would be pretty self-explanatory for anyone with common sense. It mostly was except for a couple of areas. I had removed the plate that first attaches to the TV but didn t notice that an additional plate was also attached to that one, until I took a closer look @ what I had removed (double plates!) so I had to separate them & re-attach the smaller plate back onto the mounting (extra work.)Also, the main swivel closest to where it mounts to the wall was so tight that it would not swivel at all! I was beginning to believe that the design was supposed to have that piece stationary since the only nut was two inverted hex heads that I had to purchase a whole set of (male) hex bits to loosen them up to get it to swing at all! ( LOTS more work & money!)This mount is also heavy. (Other reviewers used heavy to describe other mounts but no one else called this one so.) I am having second thoughts about mounting my 32 TV with it, now. The whole concept of lugging it above my head to mount, simply wears me out! If I do, I suppose that it will be very sturdy & (now that I have loosened it) it ll rotate pretty easily. 3Solid. I think there are only 4 real questions when considering a TV wall mount; 1.) Does the bracket fit your TV? 2.) How easy is it to install?, 3.) does it have an adequate range of motion? and 4.) Can it hold your television safely? I don't know what kind of TV you have, so I can't help you with #1, but I just installed this, so let me answer questions #2, #3 and #4 for you...2.) How easy is it to install? Well I won't lie, there's work involved. You absolutely HAVE to drill pilot holes with a drill and bit (neither included) or you're going to snap one of the lag screws off if you're installing it into a wall stud. (Ask me how I know this). You will need a 5/32" or 3/16" drill bit. I tried to use a 1/8" bit and it wasn't enough. I had to ream out the holes to get them to sink without hanging up. Once you've done that (hopefully you leveled everything first), then drive your lag screws through the holes in the bracket and snug them up. The measuring and marking takes the most time and patience, especially if you're mounting it high up like I did. If you don't have someone to help you, then go slow, be safe and measure twice. You'll be fine.3.) Does it have an adequate range of motion? Well, mostly. I wish it had more than a 10 maximum tilt. I think, 15 would be a little better for mounting up higher, but it's not a huge deal. The rest of the motion range is great, (I don't know the exact angles for the rest, sorry.) and you can make fine adjustments to the resistance via the locking nuts.4.) Can it hold your television safely?. After I mounted it to the wall stud with all 4 included lag screws, I did pull-ups from it and it didn't budge. I'm 6'1 and weigh about 200 lbs. If you mount this correctly, your TV is not coming off of the wall. (and maybe you'll get some impromptu exercise.)I threw away the plastic accents that slip over the swing arms. They serve no purpose and I didn't like the way they looked. 4Good mount Heavy and sturdy. Simple to put up, if you have done it before. Having said that, I will reiterate what another reviewer already said. 1st: mine came with NO instructions. Because I have put one similar to this one up before, I had no problem figuring it out. 2nd: you see those 4 plastic anchors supposedly to use in case you are installing in just a drywall...THROW THEM AWAY right off...they will not hold the large screw let alone the weight of the mount itself. 3rd: Do not attempt to install in drywall, only install this item into a stud(s). Aside from that, the small level and hdmi cord it came with are a nice touch. I mounted a 40 inch Samsung led tv. Holding up fine. I would definitely buy this again. 4Built Well, Sturdy, Easy,Cheap. What more could you ask for? This mount is the sturdiest tv mount I have purchased from Amazon so far. I have hung three 32+ inch televisions, one 42 inch, a 65 inch, and 4-5 23+ computer monitors...that I can remember, possibly more, all with these lower priced mounts you see on Amazon. I tend to use the ones with the highest reviews and most positive reviews. I am glad I chose this mount. The metal is sturdier and thicker than other models. I can extend the television completely WITHOUT drooping, which is a great achievement, especially since the 32 inch I purchased this for is old and heavy, unlike modern flatscreens.I have installed this monitor directly to the sheet-rock as there is not a stud in the location I have this hung. I am able to freely move the monitor with ease, and without worry of ripping the mount out of the wall. I have however loosed the bolts at each hing point to allow easier movement. The TV glides like a dream with little effort as you guide it into position. Next time I mount another TV, I'll get this mount. I highly recommend anyone trying to save money buy this mount.Oh, many of the reviews mentioned this did not come with the screws necessary to mount their television, and they had to buy new screws. The provided screws worked perfectly with my Panasonic Viera 32inch, probably 5 years old, versa mount. I'm sure there are some TVs out there with different screws, but if you have a Viera, the provided ones should work, provided the television is the same as mine. 5Excellent for the price but the mounting hardware is junk. Okay, first, throw away the mounting screws they give you. If you're attempting to mount this into drywall or sheet rock, it's not going to work. The bolts they give you are too tight in the anchors, the anchors will spin out and leave you with awesome holes you have to patch. I'd recommend 2 - 2 1/2 wood screws with 1/4" washers for mounting to a wall. Drill pilot holes, screw in, ???, profit.Secondly, if you're going to use this for mounting something in the center of a wall, don't. Buy a standard mount, not an angled mount like this one.Third, buy a nice stud finder. I mounted this with five screws in the stud, two on top, one in the middle and two on the bottom. I can practically hang off this and I weight 190 lbs.Once I got it hung properly, mounted up the TV , swiveled it into position in a corner wall and it works exactly as one would expect. I've got a 32" Visio TV mounted about 2 1/2 feet off the corner. This mount has enough wiggle room that you can do this and still swing the TV into the corner without hitting anything. The cable guides on the arms are also nice for keeping your cables from catching anything.Overall, this would get 5 stars if the mounting hardware wasn't such junk. Again, DO NOT MOUNT THIS DIRECTLY IN DRYWALL OR SHEETROCK unless of course you don't like your TV or your wall, it will fail. Use a stud. 4
