Customer Reviews

It does what it says I mounted the Intel M.2 PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4 Interface SSD 600P on the card before installing the card and everything worked on boot. The whole project took less than 10 minutes. I installed this on a Gigabyte GA-X99P-SLI MoBo. My system is all black, so the card fits just right with my visual setup. The price is right and it does the work, so all in all a great value. Would definitely purchase this card if I needed another one. 5Excellent card for M.2 NVME drives. Works great and has allowed me to repurpose my Samsung 960 EVO drive as a very, very fast spare drive. Excellent speeds on the 960, roughly the same as when it was mounted on my motherboard, which hit or exceeded Samsung s published speeds using both Magician and Crystal DiskMark. No drivers required and it booted from the drive until I figured out how to erase it so I could boot from my new motherboard mounted 970 PRO. Comes with mounting screw and nut. Super simple installation and I highly recommend it! 5Win10 = Yes. Win7 = Most Likely You can't boot a Win 7 off this but you can run this as a secondary hard drive within Win7 after the right drivers are loaded. (A new load of Win7 might be bootable, but an unlike hardware image restore failed to boot even with drivers loaded.)Win10 from what I'm reading can boot off this. But I haven't tried it yet as it must be a fresh install as well.Overall, I like the card, love the fast hard drive that goes in it. 5Obvious flaw, but they are not willing to correct Almost all manufacturers provide heatsink for this type of PCI card, reason is very simple, the SSD will generate a lot of heat and if it is not properly dissipated, it will damage the SSD, or shorten the life span of it. I told the vendor, they just do not care. 2It was great...while it lasted :/ This item is great and all, definitely works, but only for so long. I bought it in the beginning of 2017, and now I'm here in the middle of 2018 with an OS drive that isn't getting detected by my motherboard. I'm basically stuck like Chuck. Gotta order a new one of these, but now I'm apprehensive of the longevity.Notes:-Used on a PCIE port on an ASRock X99M Extreme4 Board-Used with a Samsung NVMe SSD, 256GB, never ran for more than a gamer's Saturday (~16 hours give or take a few, never more than 24 hours at a time)-Whole system is on a custom liquid cooling loop, with no issues. 3This thing works great, but make sure to check your BIOS for ... This thing works great, but make sure to check your BIOS for NVMe support before getting something like this; it has no option ROM of its own! I found out after the fact that my motherboard (an ASRock Z77 Extreme4) doesn't support booting to NVMe by default, but I got lucky and found a dark corner of the web with a beta BIOS update that fixed the problem. Others might not be so lucky! 4Does the job just fine. Installed a 512gb Intel PCIe NVMe SSD and popped it into a PCIe 4x slot and it worked perfectly. I upgraded my gaming computer's SSD and use this to keep the drive that I replaced as a spare drive for Steam games and such. Card seems decently made, came well packaged and has worked problem free ever since I installed it. It's nice when you can grab a $15 part that works as advertised. No drivers to worry about or anything like that.Just be sure that your PCIe slot supports x4 and gen3 otherwise you will not get the full speed from your drive. And remember this is really just a way to steer your PCI lanes to the drive through the slot and doesn't have any onboard controller or anything. Since it's a passthrough device, you cannot use SATA PCIe SSDs, only NVMe. 5Well made but no thermal solution Adapter is well made and works with select M.2 SSDs. The card does not work with Crucial MX200 M.2 SSD, but works with Samsung EVO 960. However, there is no thermal solution and the SSD will run very, very hot. I bought the SilverStone Technology M.2 SSD Thermal Pad set from Amazon and put the 1.5mm pad between the SSD and the adapter. This reduced the run temp of the SSD. However, I have no idea if it is wise to transfer so much heat into the adapter, the PCI-E slot and the MOBO. 4Works great with Z97 motherboard and PCIEX expansion for Apple iMac and Samsung NVME SSD drives. I have been using this SIIG NVME adapter for 7 months now and it works great. I use it to add a Samsung 970 EVO NVME to my Gigabyte z97n motherboard. It works great! Ubuntu Desktop 16 boots to the login prompt in about 3 seconds (after the BIOS screen displays, of course). I already had the most up to date BIOS on the motherboard, so the NVME hardware was recognized by the BIOS and worked with no additional driver or tweaking necessary. In the past, when using a 3.5" hard drive, it took nearly a minute to boot Ubuntu 16.I am very pleased with the performance and also the build quality of this SIIG NVME adapter. The Samsung NVME fit perfectly with no problem during installation. I am going to buy another one.Update: I bought another SIIG NVME and paired it with a Samsung 970 PRO NVME 512 SSD. I installed Windows 10 from a USB drive. Initial installation phase of Windows 10 took about 10 minutes. After rebooting, I completed the rest of the setup/configuration in about another 10 minutes. Windows10 boots in less than 10 seconds and applications launch almost instantly. This is a fantastic improvement over a typical Hard drive with spinning platters.Update June 2019:I bought a 3rd card and installed it in an external pciex expansion chassis for a couple Apple Mac computers that run Mac OS High Sierra. This card works perfectly with the Apple computers and operating system. 5It works. It fits. That's what's most important. Other NVMe adapters from other vendors do silly things to cut costs, like cutting one, long, sliding screwhole through the card, instead of a few for the different SSD lengths. Or completely missing the point of an adapter like this, which is TO FIT PROPERLY IN A PCIE slot. Not this card. This card just works. It fit in my PCI-E slot and I didn't have to bend the hell out of the bracket to make it fit. It doesn't have any LED headers, or an external LED, but it has internal read/access LEDs if you've got a case window. I don't, and I don't miss not being able to plug it into my HDD activity LEDs in my case, I need those for all the other drives. And it's black, so that's nice.A+ SIIG 5
